TSMC (2330) recently announced an additional $100 billion investment in the United States. The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) issued a statement today (23rd), highlighting that the U.S.-Taiwan economic relationship is a 'mutually beneficial two-way street.' While Taiwanese companies like TSMC are making historic investments in the U.S., American companies have also been deeply rooted in Taiwan for over 60 years. Through two-way investment and industrial collaboration, both sides continue to strengthen critical supply chains and technological competitiveness.

AIT noted that since the 1950s, U.S. investment has accounted for more than half of Taiwan's total foreign investment, demonstrating the long-term participation of American businesses in Taiwan's economic development. In recent years, as demand for semiconductors, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced manufacturing has surged, U.S. companies have deepened their presence in Taiwan, forming tighter linkages with Taiwan's technology ecosystem.

AIT specifically named major U.S. firms such as Micron Technology, Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM, Corning, Dell, HP, and Qualcomm, all of which have established operations within Taiwan's semiconductor and technology ecosystem. These companies are leveraging Taiwan's global leadership in advanced manufacturing to jointly drive industrial advancement.

AIT emphasized that this collaboration not only empowers American innovation but also helps secure critical supply chains, enabling U.S. and Taiwan-based enterprises to gain stronger competitive advantages in the global technology race. AIT stated, 'Two-way investment between the U.S. and Taiwan creates a powerful alliance—making both sides stronger!'
