Taisugar continues to deepen its industry-academia collaboration by officially signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KSIAD (Kun Shan University of Science and Technology) on the 21st. Represented by Taisugar Chairman Wu Ming-Chang and KSIAD President Lee Tian-Siang, the five-year partnership will focus on four key areas: talent development, technical exchange, joint research, and business expansion. By integrating corporate practicality with academic expertise, both parties aim to cultivate cross-domain talent and promote the practical application of innovative outcomes.

Focusing on talent development, technological research, and smart applications to jointly advance net-zero transformation and industrial upgrading

Taisugar stated that this year marks its 80th anniversary, having evolved from a traditional sugar manufacturer to a diversified enterprise. In recent years, the company has actively promoted net-zero transformation and sustainable development. Last year, it achieved a record-high after-tax net profit of NT$7.468 billion, demonstrating robust operational performance. Moving forward, Taisugar will continue investing in sustainable infrastructure, including modernized livestock farms, circular housing, and renewable energy, striving to become a green benchmark enterprise.

Taisugar emphasized that corporate growth requires outstanding talent, while talent cultivation needs practical platforms. This collaboration with KSIAD will combine Taisugar’s diversified business operations and land resource advantages with KSIAD’s academic strengths in information management, environmental engineering, leisure and catering, to establish a closer industry-academia cooperation model, promoting technological exchange and industrial application.

Under the agreement, both parties will promote employee on-the-job training, student internships, and cross-disciplinary professional development. They will also integrate expertise in land development, spatial design, tourism and catering, mechanical and electrical engineering, and environmental engineering to advance smart industrial applications. Additionally, they will jointly apply for research projects and host outcome exhibitions to foster technological innovation and industrial advancement.

Taisugar emphasized that this industry-academia collaboration will not only enhance corporate competitiveness but also help cultivate professionals aligned with industry needs, injecting new momentum into Taiwan’s sustainable industries and vocational education, and jointly creating a new paradigm of mutual benefit and co-creation between industry and academia.
