Ahead of the 2026 local elections, the Taiwan People's Party has fully activated its campaign strategy in Greater Hsinchu. On the evening of the 22nd, the Hsinchu Party Branch held a swearing-in rally, officially announcing the completion of grassroots nominations for the 'People's Hsinchu Team.' A full slate of 20 candidates has been confirmed, including Chiou Chen-Yuan running for Zhubei City Mayor, along with candidates for Hsinchu County and City Councilors, township and municipal representatives, and grassroots neighborhood leaders. The team has demonstrated a 'burn the boats' determination, vowing to extend the party's high-quality urban governance model from Hsinchu City to Hsinchu County and create a new vision for the Greater Hsinchu technology and lifestyle zone. Chiou: Building the 'Strongest Trio in Greater Hsinchu' with Hsu and Kao Chiou Chen-Yuan, Chairman of the Hsinchu Party Branch and mayoral candidate for Zhubei, stated that Hsinchu is the deepest-rooted and most important starting point for the Taiwan People's Party. The strategic core of the 2026 election campaign is 'Blue-White Alliance and Joint Governance'—not driven by personal gain, but by maximizing regional welfare. After evaluating regional development safety and optimal electoral combinations, the party central leadership decided to formally nominate Chiou Chen-Yuan, former Deputy Mayor of Hsinchu City with extensive administrative and legislative experience, to run for mayor of Zhubei—the core engine of Hsinchu County. Moving forward, he will join forces with Hsu Hsin-Ying, the Kuomintang's Hsinchu County mayoral candidate, and current Hsinchu City Mayor Kao Hung-An to build the 'Strongest Trio in Greater Hsinchu' at the gateway to the Hsinchu Science Park. Chiou Chen-Yuan emphasized that the 'People's Hsinchu Team' is a highly capable, young, and battle-ready team. The candidates come from diverse backgrounds including technology, law, youth entrepreneurship, and deeply rooted local communities, forming a youthful, highly professional, and combat-ready 'immediately effective' team. Chiou joined all other Hsinchu County and City candidates in chanting slogans such as 'Hsinchu Forward, Hope Realized' and 'People's Hsinchu Team, United for Victory,' officially launching the election campaign. The team is fully committed to planting the party's flag across Greater Hsinchu. The Taiwan People's Party not only aims to win the Zhubei mayoral race as its top priority but also vows to maximize its councilor seats in Hsinchu County and City and establish a strong party caucus in the councils.
