Kaohsiung City Government has launched a new summer tourism promotion campaign, 'Cijin & Hamasen Summer Coupon,' running from July 25 to August 30. By taking the ferry, attending concerts, staying at partner accommodations, or making purchases at designated stores, visitors can receive a NT$30 discount coupon each time, encouraging deeper exploration and spending in the Cijin and Hamasen commercial districts and enhancing the summer harbor experience.
The campaign coincides with the '2026 Cijin Kite Festival & Inflatable Water Park' and integrates transportation, tourism, and local business resources to create a comprehensive harbor tourism experience, driving local commerce and visitor traffic. According to the Department of Economic Development, during the campaign period, visitors who take the ferry from Gushan Ferry Terminal or Pier-2 Warehouse to Cijin or the Kaohsiung Music Center for concerts, stay at partner hotels in Cijin and Hamasen, or spend over NT$100 in a single transaction at Xinbin町 Ocean Kitchen, can receive one NT$30 'Cijin & Hamasen Summer Coupon.'
The coupons can be used at partner stores in Cijin and Hamasen commercial districts and at Xinbin町 Ocean Kitchen, with NT$30 deducted for every NT$100 spent, and multiple coupons can be stacked, increasing visitors' willingness to spend.
Department of Economic Development Director Liao Tai-hsiang stated that Kaohsiung has actively leveraged large-scale events to boost tourism and consumption in recent years. Last year’s Cijin Kite Festival attracted approximately 250,000 visitors. This year, in addition to continuing the night market coupon distribution linked to concert events, the city is launching the 'Cijin & Hamasen Summer Coupon' for the first time, integrating transportation, accommodation, dining, commerce, and concerts, aiming to attract more tourists to plan two-day, one-night harbor getaways, extending tourism benefits to local businesses, accommodations, and surrounding industries.
Xinbin町 Ocean Kitchen, located next to Gushan Ferry Terminal, is also offering additional incentives. Visitors who present receipts showing same-day cumulative spending of NT$100 or more can redeem a NT$30 coupon and a limited-edition folder. When used again at Xinbin町 Ocean Kitchen, the coupon provides an additional NT$60 discount. Some stores are also offering gifts with minimum purchases, allowing visitors to enjoy local harbor cuisine while attending kite performances.
Chen Hui-wen, Chairperson of the Greater Kaohsiung City Tourism Business District Association, noted that summer is peak tourist season for Cijin and Hamasen. Including accommodation in the coupon redemption criteria is expected to encourage more tourists to stay overnight, extend their stay, and further boost spending in dining, souvenirs, lodging, and surrounding businesses.
Chen Yu-hong, Chairman of the Cihou Business District Development Association, pointed out that this year’s coupon campaign will help convert tourist footfall into commercial momentum. Combined with the 'Cijin Eat the Sea' event on August 29, the campaign invites visitors to enjoy Cijin’s seafood, snacks, and shaved ice from late July through the end of August, experiencing the summer charm of the port city.
The Department of Economic Development reminds the public that the 'Cijin & Hamasen Summer Coupon' will be available from July 25 to August 30, daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at Gushan Ferry Terminal for paying ferry passengers on a limited basis. Concertgoers at the Kaohsiung Music Center can collect coupons at the event venue with their tickets. Visitors spending over NT$100 at Xinbin町 Ocean Kitchen and guests staying at partner accommodations in Cijin and Hamasen can also receive coupons according to the campaign rules. The city invites tourists nationwide to visit Cijin and Hamasen this summer and enjoy the harbor views, local cuisine, and great deals.
