Taichung City Hosts Singles Event at Democratic Deliberative Park, 18 Couples Find Love

Strolling through a historic park can lead to romantic encounters! On the 25th, Taichung City Government's Civil Affairs Bureau, in collaboration with the North District Household Registration Office, hosted a singles event titled 'Strolling Through Old Times: Unlocking the Code of Happiness' at the Legislative Yuan Democratic Deliberative Park. Thirty-seven single men and women were invited to interact naturally through fun activities, therapeutic crafts, and immersive puzzle-solving, all within a cultural heritage site filled with nostalgic charm. Director Wu Shih-wei of the Civil Affairs Bureau announced that the event successfully facilitated mutual interest between 18 pairs, achieving a remarkable 97% matching rate, turning the historic venue into a starting point for love.

Director Wu emphasized that the city government is committed to building safe, inclusive, and diverse social platforms, encouraging marriage-eligible singles to step outside their daily routines and meet like-minded partners through organic interactions. This year, the Civil Affairs Bureau, together with household registration offices across the city, plans to host as many as 25 themed matchmaking events. These events will integrate local characteristics, cultural spaces, and creative experiences, offering diverse opportunities for connection in a relaxed atmosphere, continuously fostering meaningful relationships.

Ms. Cheng Feng-chiu, Director of the North District Household Registration Office, explained that the event began at the 'Sun-Moon Magpie Bridge,' a symbolic site for romance within the park. Participants drew 'Happiness Cards' to find their initial partners and took commemorative photos. They then moved to the Yilu Lounge Café for group interactions, themed discussions, and a shared lunch, exchanging interests, life perspectives, and personal values. In the afternoon, a hands-on 'American Coffee Jelly Candle' making session allowed participants to deepen their connections through creative collaboration. The event concluded at the Democratic Theater, where immersive experiences, deep conversations, and team-based real-life puzzle-solving guided participants to share their values and visions for the future, working together to unlock the symbolic 'Code of Happiness.'

To preserve the joyful memories of the event, the North District Office specially prepared 'Zinc Ceramic Travel Mugs' as matching souvenirs. The mugs symbolize 'hearts in sync, always together,' conveying blessings for couples to cherish their encounters, deepen their bonds through mutual understanding, and walk hand-in-hand toward building happy families. The office will continue to launch creative and meaningful singles events by integrating local culture, unique venues, and innovative experiences, creating relaxed and sincere opportunities for singles to expand their social circles, find love, and begin new chapters in their lives.
