The New Taipei Metro Sanying Line began operations on June 30, linking Sanxia, Yingge, and Tucheng. More than just a transit upgrade, it's hailed as a new metro line integrating art, aesthetics, and sustainability. After overcoming high-difficulty engineering challenges, the construction team successfully completed two crossings over National Highway No. 3, the Taiwan Railways, and four rivers (Sanxia River, Dahan River, Yingge Creek, and Hengxi Creek). The line also features a seamless transfer at Dingpu Station, allowing passengers to switch to the Bannan Line within just two minutes, greatly enhancing commuting and tourism convenience.
What makes the Sanying Line fun?
Beyond improved transportation, the route reveals numerous unique highlights. The train's exterior design, chosen through a public vote, is titled 'Blue Sky, Wandering Canyon,' using soft blue wavy lines to echo the mountainous and riverside landscapes of Sanxia and Yingge. The entire line adopts a soothing light blue color scheme, creating a relaxing and stress-free riding experience. All 12 stations incorporate green building and smart building concepts, forming 'breathing stations.' Additionally, 13 local and international artists, including Japan's Makoto Otsuka and Italy's mosaic master Luca Barberini, were invited to create public art installations, turning the entire route into a 'moving art museum.'
In particular, the Yingge District has developed a '5 Stations, 5 Parks' green corridor at Yingge Station, Ceramics Old Street Station, Guohua Station, Yongji Park Station, and Yingtao Fude Station, allowing visitors to step directly into lush green park spaces upon exiting the train.
According to Net Temperature DailyView, using the public opinion analysis software KEYPO Big Data Key Engine, the top 10 attractions along the Sanying Line have been ranked.
