Transitioning into the workforce is a key challenge for many young people, whether they are fresh graduates preparing for job hunting or youth searching for suitable positions. They can all benefit from government-provided employment resources.
The Ministry of Labor’s Workforce Development Agency has launched the 'Youth Employment Support Program,' offering comprehensive job-seeking support to youth aged 15 to 29 who have graduated or have been unemployed (or job-seeking) for over 60 days. The entire application process can be completed online.
The program includes one-on-one resume reviews and interview coaching by dedicated advisors to help youth enhance their competitiveness in the job market. Eligible applicants can receive up to NT$48,000 in job-seeking allowances and employment incentives. Below is a complete overview of the subsidy amounts, eligibility criteria, and application procedures.
What is the 'Youth Employment Support Program'?
According to the Workforce Development Agency, many young people feel uncertain about entering the workforce after leaving school due to unclear career direction or lack of practical experience. To help youth smoothly take their first steps in job hunting, the program integrates various professional resources to provide one-on-one career counseling, targeted guidance, and job matching services.
Additionally, the program offers practical courses such as resume reviews, mock interviews, and workplace image building, comprehensively strengthening youth job-seeking capabilities and helping them clarify career goals and identify suitable job opportunities.
Eligibility for the 'Youth Employment Support Program'
Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of China, aged 15 to 29, not currently enrolled in school, and have been continuously unemployed or job-seeking for over 60 days (limited to first-time job seekers).
Subsidy Amounts under the 'Youth Employment Support Program'
### Job-Seeking Allowance
During the job-seeking period, participants who follow the guidelines for job hunting and accept employment counseling can receive a monthly subsidy of NT$6,000, issued for up to three months.
### Employment Incentive
