The Legislative Yuan recently passed the opposition-backed Taiwan Future Account (TFA) bill in its third reading. Media reports indicate the Executive Yuan may refuse to co-sign or enforce the TFA legislation. In response, Taiwan People's Party (TPP) spokesperson Wu Huang-sheng stated on the 27th that if the Executive Yuan believes the bill faces insurmountable obstacles, it should legally initiate a veto override. If the Legislative Yuan upholds the original decision after a veto override vote, the bill must then be implemented.

Wu emphasized that Article 70 of the Constitution, which prohibits the Legislative Yuan from passing resolutions that increase budgetary expenditures, applies only to budgets proposed by the Executive Yuan. Since the TFA is a legislative bill initiated by the legislature, the Executive Yuan's claim that it is unconstitutional and its threat not to enforce it completely violates legal principles. He criticized that an Executive Yuan premier without a popular mandate is directly suppressing a legislature with full democratic legitimacy, stating, 'Premier Cho Jung-tai, you are truly blind.'

Earlier, Executive Yuan spokesperson Lee Hui-chih stated that the Executive Yuan had already proposed the 'New National Strategy for Taiwan's Population' in May, introducing 18 family support measures covering the three stages of 'childbirth, parenting, and education' to provide comprehensive care. These include a monthly NT$5,000 growth allowance for every child from age 0 to 18. Formulating policy and budgeting are constitutional responsibilities of the Executive Yuan. The 18 family support measures were developed by referencing international practices, undergoing fiscal assessments, and forming a comprehensive, balanced, and sustainable plan. This plan aims to support all citizens, promote local development, and advance national progress while ensuring fiscal sustainability. Therefore, the Executive Yuan will continue advancing these measures based on its existing policy framework.
