Pixar's classic animated film has once again shattered box office records. 'Toy Story 5' has surged at the global box office, surpassing the $1 billion mark over the weekend of July 24–26, 2026. The film has now accumulated $1.022 billion (approximately NT$33.072 billion) in global revenue, claiming the top spot for 2026's annual worldwide box office rankings and is poised to surpass 'Toy Story 4's record of $1.07 billion.

In North America, the film has grossed $448 million (approximately NT$14.497 billion), while international markets have contributed $573 million (approximately NT$18.542 billion), bringing the total to $1.022 billion (approximately NT$33.072 billion), making it the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far.

Based on current box office momentum, industry analysts widely expect 'Toy Story 5' to soon surpass the $1.07 billion global revenue of 'Toy Story 4', potentially becoming the highest-grossing entry in the 'Toy Story' franchise history.

'Toy Story 5' is the third film in 2026 to join the 'Billion-Dollar Club,' following 'Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie' and the biopic 'Michael Jackson.' Additionally, it marks the third film in the 'Toy Story' series—after Part 3 and Part 4—to achieve this milestone, reaffirming the enduring market power of this 30-year-old animated IP that has captivated audiences worldwide.

With multiple major films achieving strong box office results, market analysts believe 2026 could become the year with the most $1 billion-grossing films since the global cinema industry was severely impacted by the pandemic in 2020, signaling a clear recovery in theater attendance and audience enthusiasm.

Beyond international success, 'Toy Story 5' has also performed exceptionally well in Taiwan, where its box office has already exceeded NT$260 million. The film continues to draw large crowds to theaters, and its future performance remains a key focus for market observers.
