Musician Chen Yi-Fu was scheduled to attend a school music performance on the 26th but failed to appear and could not be reached. Concerned associates reported him missing and requested police and fire department assistance to enter his residence. Upon arrival, authorities, with family consent, broke down the door and discovered Chen lying on the floor of his bedroom, already deceased.
According to a statement from the Tamsui Branch of the New Taipei City Police Department, the incident was reported at 1:26 PM on the 26th. A 56-year-old man with the surname Chen had unexpectedly missed a school event and was unresponsive to contact attempts. Police dispatched officers to his home in Tamsui. After gaining family approval to enter, they found the man lying motionless inside, clearly deceased. No signs of struggle or forced entry were found at the scene. The forensic team completed on-site investigation and evidence collection, ruling out foul play. The case has been referred to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office for autopsy.
Chen Yi-Fu had posted on Facebook on the 25th, sharing a photo of his emergency room wristband and writing, "One cannot use too many portals in life." He revealed that he suffered sudden stomach spasms during a concert, endured until the performance ended, then rushed to the hospital. He described witnessing the hectic emergency room scene and finally returned home around 2 a.m. This post has become his final public message before his passing.
