Despite the cooling trend in the overall housing market, property prices in Taipei remain high. According to data, the average transaction price of new houses in Taipei in 2026 is expected to reach NT$113.8 per ping, a significant increase of 5.4% from NT$108 in 2025. In response, He Xiangchang, executive director of the Xin Chuan Real Estate Think Tank, pointed out in a Facebook post that the new development 'Hebron Manor' located in the Xinyi District of Taipei has a unit price of only NT$37.9 per ping. However, there are restrictions on buyers, who must be Christians. Taipei offers a high quality of life, and many people want to own a home there. However, due to the high property prices, many people in need are forced to buy homes in the Xinyi District, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and other areas within a one-day living circle. In this regard, He Xiangchang pointed out that the cheapest new development in Taipei this year, 'Hebron Manor', has a unit price of only NT$37.9 per ping, with prices similar to those from 2019 to 2022, indicating no price increase. He Xiangchang analyzed that the reason why this development maintains an affordable price is mainly due to its proximity to a blessed land, and the land belongs to the church. The developer is a devout Christian and has specially set restrictions, requiring buyers to be Christians, aiming to create a community with a shared faith. The community also plans to have vegetable gardens, basketball courts, and children's playgrounds. He Xiangchang recalled that when the development first went on sale in 2019, there was almost no relevant information online. However, the day after the news report, he received two inquiries at his company, with people asking him how to contact the developer, the purchase qualifications, and the specific location, making him joke that he felt like he had become a salesperson. For this type of special development, He Xiangchang believes that 'faith' may be a potential emerging market. However, he also reminds the public to consider the acceptance of their families and the restrictions they may face in actual residence and house resale before making an impulsive purchase. More importantly, home buyers must first confirm that 'their faith will not change'.
