Shu-Te University's Department of Performing Arts, the 'Grace Chorale,' has once again brought good news from the international stage! Recently, representing Taiwan at the '41st Takarazuka International Choral Competition (TICC)' in Japan, they won the silver medal in the mixed-voice category among 26 outstanding teams from Japan, South Korea, and other regions. Their superb singing skills earned them an invitation to perform at the 'International Special Concert,' showcasing the artistic prowess and cultural charm of Taiwanese youth to the world.
This time, the choir was conducted by Yu Shan-min, an assistant professor in the Department of Performing Arts. The team stood out in this high-level competition, which primarily featured a cappella and classical works, with their solid musical training, delicate harmonies, and high level of coordination, earning unanimous praise from the judges.

Through rich musical layers and sincere emotions, they successfully moved the international audience on site and allowed the world to hear the charm of Taiwan's diverse culture.
The school stated that this participation was supported by the Ministry of Education's 'School Operation Improvement Plan' and was successfully completed with the help of Li Chih-lun, the director of the Department of Performing Arts, Ding Yi-chen, the director of the Arts and Culture Center, young conductor Lin Chin-heng, and the alumni team. Participating students shared that they were able to bring what they learned in class to the international stage, compete and exchange with outstanding teams from various Asian countries, not only improving their professional singing skills but also broadening their international perspective, which is the most valuable learning experience during their studies.
The Grace Chorale of Shu-Te University was established by Chairman Chu Yuan-hsiang in 2013. For many years, it has developed the characteristic teaching of 'Choral Theater,' which integrates singing, drama, and body performance, cultivating talents with both musical literacy and stage performance skills. In recent years, it has been internationally recognized, winning 5 gold awards at the Italian Da Vinci International Choral Festival and 3 championships at the French Provence International Choral Festival. Now, it has added the silver medal in the mixed-voice category at the Takarazuka International Choral Competition, once again demonstrating the fruitful results of Shu-Te University's deep cultivation of art education and promotion of international exchange.
