Additionally, remember to turn off the power to your water pump motor during the outage. If the motor remains on, it may run dry, causing overheating, equipment damage, or even fire hazards. If the main pump before the building’s water meter continues to operate, it can create negative pressure in the pipes, drawing in surface contaminants and compromising water quality.
