Facing the wave of AI and digital transformation, workers seeking to enhance their competitiveness or transition across fields can now benefit from the 'Industry Talent Investment Scheme' promoted by the Ministry of Labor’s Tao-Yuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli Branch. Eligible employed workers can receive up to NT$100,000 in training subsidies over three years. This year, the branch has partnered with nearly 150 training institutions to offer over 500 popular courses, providing more than 10,000 training opportunities. For example, 56-year-old veteran Wang Hui-Fang successfully transitioned into a high-tech R&D assistant through the 'SolidWorks AI Drafting Class.' Detailed course information is available on Taiwan Jobs Bank.
Wang Hui-Fang, now 56, served 30 years as a professional soldier before retiring four years ago and joining the Department of Earth Sciences at National Central University as a research assistant, launching his second career. Faced with the need to develop high-tech ocean exploration instruments, he lacked 3D drafting experience. On his professor’s recommendation, he enrolled in the Ministry of Labor-subsidized 'SolidWorks AI-Assisted Drafting and 3D Printing Modeling Class.'
Through intensive training and consistent self-practice, Wang rapidly mastered SolidWorks from scratch. He now independently creates 3D models, revises design drawings, and coordinates production details with manufacturers—significantly improving communication efficiency within the research team. His journey stands as an exemplary model of lifelong learning and career transformation.
Lai Chia-Jen, Branch Director of the Tao-Yuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli Branch, emphasized that as industries increasingly demand cross-domain talent, the Ministry of Labor is actively supporting employed workers in upgrading their skills to maintain workplace competitiveness. This year, the branch has collaborated with nearly 150 high-quality training providers to launch over 500 industry talent development courses. These cover trending fields such as AI tool applications, digital engineering design, foreign language proficiency, heavy machinery operation, and coffee and beverage preparation, offering over 10,000 training slots to help workers build second specialties or plan career transitions.
Amid rapid workplace changes and the widespread adoption of AI, many employed workers are eager to leverage government resources to reduce the financial burden of self-investment. The 'Industry Talent Investment Scheme' by the Ministry of Labor’s Workforce Development Agency aims to encourage autonomous learning and enhance workforce competitiveness. Eligible participants can receive up to NT$100,000 in training subsidies over three years, significantly easing personal financial pressure.
