Seniors aged 65 and above in Keelung City are set to receive new welfare benefits. On the 26th, Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang announced during the 'Dashawan Forest Trail Happy Walking' event that the city government will launch the 'Changle 65 Project,' distributing 6,500 NTD to every resident aged 65 and above before this year's Mid-Autumn Festival. Starting in 2027, the initiative will expand to include fixed disbursements during the Lunar New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival, aiming to alleviate the living burden on seniors through tangible support. Mayor Hsieh stated that the city government will soon launch the 'Changle 65 Project,' completing the first round of disbursements before this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival. Eligible seniors aged 65 and above will each receive 6,500 NTD. Starting next year, the city plans to distribute 6,500 NTD during each of the three major festivals—Lunar New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival—hoping seniors can share in the city’s development achievements and families receive more substantial living support.
Walking event integrates net-zero concept; mayor shares multiple municipal achievements
The 'Dashawan Forest Trail Happy Walking' event took place on the 26th, centered on the themes of 'net-zero green living, energy conservation, carbon reduction, environmental mountain cleaning, and charity walking.' Participants started from the Zhongzheng District Administrative Building, walked along the forest trail, passed by Yizheng Park and Plum Garden, and finally arrived at the Zhongsha Community Hall. The event encouraged people to connect with nature while promoting environmental protection and carbon reduction.
Mayor Hsieh cheered on participants and expressed gratitude to the organizers for their long-term promotion of healthy physical activity, encouraging citizens to develop regular exercise habits.

Regarding family-friendly facilities, the city government has implemented the 'One District, One Unique Indoor Children’s Playground' policy. Keelung Athletics Stadium to be completed soon; 24-hour parking facility to open simultaneously
Mayor Hsieh also announced that the Keelung Athletics Stadium is nearing completion. In addition to offering a more comprehensive sports venue, it will feature a 24-hour parking lot, enhancing convenience for citizens to access sports and leisure activities and further improving the city’s public infrastructure.
