New Taipei mayoral candidate Li Sichuan attended the 'Wujie Sanqing Temple Wang Tianjun Shengdan Qianqiu Blessing Banquet' in Sanxia on the evening of the 29th, receiving a warm welcome from temple officials and local residents. Accompanied by temple master Huang Qiming, Li personally greeted attendees table by table, amid continuous chants of 'Dong Suan!'—a popular electoral cheer—demonstrating his strong popularity in the Sanxia area. During his speech, Li reaffirmed his policy platforms on local healthcare and the Da Hanxi Metro Corridor, earning enthusiastic approval from the audience.
Li began his remarks by expressing gratitude to the deities for safeguarding the peace and prosperity of Sanxia residents over the years, and commended the temple for its long-term commitment to public welfare and support for vulnerable groups, calling it a vital pillar of faith and stability in the region. As he moved from table to table, many locals shouted 'Dong Suan!', while others excitedly declared 'Mayor, I love you!' and fans proudly displayed phone cases signed by Li, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
The event was also attended by New Taipei City Councilors Lin Jinjie and Hong Jiajun, as well as Taiwan People's Party council candidate Wu Yalun, all joining in the celebration.
Li reiterated his previously announced five major healthcare policies, centered on 'accelerated construction via BOT model' and 'regional capacity enhancement.' He highlighted that the Sanxia, Yingge, and Shulin areas have seen continuous population growth in recent years, coupled with the maturation of the Peking University Special Zone, leading to rising demand for medical services. Li pledged that, if elected, he would actively support the expansion of Enzhugong Hospital, strengthen the Tucheng Medical Park, and establish a senior healthcare center to build a more comprehensive regional medical network in the Xi'nan area, ensuring residents enjoy more convenient and complete healthcare services.
On transportation, Li emphasized his proposal to 'extend the Minsheng-Xizhi Line and promote the Da Hanxi Metro Corridor.' He stated that, upon election, he would progressively advance this project to connect key areas including Dadaocheng, Sanchong, New Taipei's Second Administrative Center, Xinzhuang, Wenzaiwei, Shulin Megadome City, and Tucheng Industrial Park, with potential future extensions to Taoyuan and Keelung.
Li stressed that this corridor would have three major advantages: First, it would alleviate congestion on existing transport systems such as the TRA, Banan Line, and Xinzhuang Line, improving overall efficiency. Second, it would link major technology clusters in Keelung, Xizhi, Neihu Science Park, New Taipei, and Taoyuan, forming a 'Golden Technology Corridor' across the Taipei-New Taipei-Keelung-Taoyuan region. Third, guided by the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) concept, it would create a 15-minute neighborhood life circle and a 30-minute dual-city life circle, making work, living, healthcare, education, and public services more accessible.
Li concluded by stating that the future Da Hanxi River would no longer be just a waterway, but the most important urban development axis for New Taipei City. With concrete infrastructure plans, he aims to drive sustained growth in the Tucheng-Shulin-Sanxia-Yingge-Xinan region and across New Taipei as a whole.
