With the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, peak summer travel season, and surging air cargo demand from the AI supply chain, Taiwan's four major airlines—EVA Air, China Airlines, Starlux Airlines, and Tigerair Taiwan—have all announced strong financial results for June and the first half of 2026. Benefiting from robust passenger and cargo demand, all four carriers reported record-breaking monthly and first-half revenues. As the summer peak season continues, with increased flight frequencies and new route launches, third-quarter performance is expected to remain strong.

EVA Air: First-half revenue soars to NT$128.286 billion! Load factors on U.S. and European routes hit 90%, popular Taoyuan routes to receive more flights

EVA Air (2618-TW) announced a consolidated revenue of NT$23.472 billion in June, up 5.12% month-on-month and 26.58% year-on-year, setting a new monthly record. This marks the fourth consecutive month that EVA Air's revenue has exceeded NT$20 billion. Passenger revenue reached NT$14.132 billion (up 19.04% YoY), a monthly high, while cargo revenue hit NT$6.652 billion (up 48.34% YoY), the second-highest for the period. Cumulative passenger revenue from January to June reached NT$81.095 billion, driving total first-half revenue to NT$128.286 billion, up 16.36% YoY—another record high for the period.

EVA Air noted that June benefited from early summer travel demand and business and tourism spikes driven by the Taipei International Computer Show. Load factors on long-haul routes to the Americas and Europe reached 90%, with the newly launched Washington, D.C. route operating at full capacity. Cargo performance remained strong due to sustained high demand for AI servers, semiconductors, and cross-border e-commerce. To meet strong summer demand, EVA Air has increased frequencies starting in July, including Taoyuan–Busan to 12 weekly flights, Taoyuan–Kobe to 10 weekly flights, and Taoyuan–Brisbane to 4 weekly flights, targeting both leisure and business travelers.

Passengers who have flown with EVA Air commented: "EVA's service quality is outstanding—flight attendants are friendly, polite, and attentive, making the entire experience comfortable." "Seat pitch in economy class is quite spacious compared to other airlines, and the in-flight entertainment (IFE) system updates movies quickly, so long-haul flights aren’t boring." "EVA's Premium Economy offers incredible value—much more space than economy, with upgraded meals and service, highly recommended for long flights." "The in-flight meals keep getting better—I once had Din Tai Fung’s beef noodle soup and a Michelin-collaborated meal, both were impressive!" "I feel very safe—EVA’s security checks and pilot skills are solid, and the captain’s announcements during turbulence are reassuring. No wonder it’s considered one of the world’s safest airlines." "The cabin environment is kept very clean—restrooms are almost always fresh and odor-free, which is a big plus." "The ice cream and hot meals at EVA’s Taoyuan lounge are fantastic—eating well before departure really lifts my mood." "EVA’s mileage program is very useful, great for redeeming tickets and upgrades."

China Airlines: First-half revenue hits NT$120.8 billion, claiming the 'Triple Crown'! AI supply chain boosts both passenger and cargo performance

China Airlines reported a 'Triple Crown' performance in June, with consolidated revenue reaching NT$21.761 billion (up 28.82% YoY), a new monthly record. Passenger revenue was NT$11.819 billion (up 14.84% YoY), and cargo revenue reached NT$8.085 billion (up 51.6% YoY). Second-quarter consolidated revenue hit NT$63.845 billion, a quarterly record, and first-half revenue totaled NT$120.803 billion, setting a new high for the period.

China Airlines stated that travel demand ahead of the Dragon Boat Festival and summer vacation boosted long-haul routes, with average load factors exceeding 85% on routes to Los Angeles, Seattle, Rome, and Prague. Japanese, Korean, and Australia/New Zealand routes are also highly popular, with Taoyuan–Busan increasing to 21 weekly flights starting July 24. Cargo benefited from strong demand for AI servers, semiconductor equipment, and high-value ad-hoc shipments at the end of Q2. Looking ahead to Q3, with steady exports of AI and ICT products and falling international oil prices, profit margins are expected to expand further.

Starlux Airlines: First-half revenue hits record NT$28.553 billion! A350-1000 flies to West Coast U.S., first European route launches in August

Starlux Airlines (2646) reported a consolidated revenue of NT$5.287 billion in June (up 10% MoM, 4.8% YoY), a new monthly high. Passenger revenue reached NT$4.064 billion (up 37% YoY), and cargo revenue hit NT$715 million (up 57% YoY), both setting records. Cumulative revenue from January to June reached NT$28.553 billion, up 30% YoY, marking the highest first-half revenue in company history.

Starlux Airlines is actively expanding capacity. In early July, it delivered its first 'Sky Mountain Silver' livery aircraft. The Taipei–Phoenix route has fully transitioned to A350-1000 wide-body aircraft, enhancing capacity and better serving semiconductor supply chain business needs in Arizona. Additionally, all three daily flights on Taipei–Narita have been upgraded to wide-body aircraft, and the new Taichung–Sapporo route is set to launch on October 2 (5 weekly flights). To further boost summer demand, Starlux’s first European route, Taipei–Prague, will officially launch on August 1 (3 weekly flights).

Tigerair Taiwan: First-half revenue exceeds NT$10.3 billion! Average load factor surpasses 90%, Kaohsiung-to-Japan routes expand to 11

Tigerair Taiwan (6757) reported a self-compiled monthly revenue of NT$1.62 billion in June, up 27% YoY, setting a new record for the period. Benefiting from strong outbound travel demand, total flights increased 13% YoY, with the average load factor maintaining a high level of 91%. Cumulative flight frequency increased 14% YoY, pushing first-half operating revenue to NT$10.32 billion, up 22% YoY—the best first-half performance since the company’s founding.

Despite facing high international fuel costs in Q2, Tigerair Taiwan demonstrated resilient profitability through flexible operations. To expand its southern Taiwan market, the airline announced new routes from Kaohsiung to Ishigaki and Komatsu starting in September, bringing the total number of Japan routes from Kaohsiung to 11. On the service side, the entire fleet rolled out the wireless in-flight entertainment system 'tiger.mov' in late June, allowing passengers to enjoy free audio and video content at 30,000 feet, further enhancing brand value.
