Taishan District in New Taipei City has gained a new comprehensive care hub. New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi attended the joint opening ceremony of the 'Yixue Civic Activity Center and Social Welfare Facilities' on the 29th, announcing the official launch of the civic activity center, day care center, small-scale workshop for people with disabilities, and social welfare service center. Mayor Hou emphasized that by integrating long-term care, social welfare, and community public spaces, the city is enhancing local public service capacity and enabling residents of all ages to access necessary support within their communities, creating an inclusive, intergenerational living environment.

According to Mayor Hou, the newly completed Yixue Civic Activity Center features a multifunctional design. The first floor houses the 'Taiwu-Lin Social Welfare Service Center,' providing family support and social services for the Taishan, Wugu, and Linkou areas. The second floor is New Taipei City's 34th small-scale workshop for people with disabilities, serving 20 individuals with disabilities by offering a stable and supportive work and training environment. The third floor hosts the city's 130th day care center, allowing seniors to receive comprehensive care within their familiar neighborhood.

The fourth and fifth floors are designated as the civic activity center and multipurpose gathering spaces, to be used for neighborhood meetings, community courses, cultural performances, and various public events. This space will serve as a vital hub for strengthening local bonds and promoting community interaction.

Mayor Hou noted that the city government has been continuously advancing Taishan's overall development, including major projects such as the Wenzaihun urban land readjustment, Dacuokeng Creek water environment improvement, sewer system construction, and social housing developments. The city is also actively promoting the Wuta Light Rail and Taiban Light Rail projects, aiming to upgrade transportation, housing, and public infrastructure in tandem to create a more convenient and livable environment and drive local development.

The Civil Affairs Bureau stated that the architectural design of the Yixue Civic Activity Center integrates the cultural essence of the nearby national historic site, Mingzhi Academy, using a 'bookshelf' as the exterior design concept. This symbolizes knowledge transmission and community-based learning, adding cultural significance to public architecture. After opening, the center will serve over 20,000 residents from Yixue, Yiren, Mingzhi, Tongrong, and surrounding neighborhoods. In addition to daily public services, it will become a key platform for art exhibitions, community courses, and local events, combining service, exchange, and cultural functions into one public space, establishing itself as the new community life core of the Taishan area.
