Fii Robotics Co., Ltd. has officially entered Kaohsiung Software Park and established the 'Robot Innovation Center,' positioning Kaohsiung as its core R&D and manufacturing hub in southern Taiwan. The company will integrate its Qiaotou manufacturing base and Dallas, U.S. operations to expand into the Taiwan-U.S. market, seizing business opportunities driven by AI servers, semiconductors, and smart manufacturing automation.
Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai attended the inauguration ceremony today (30th), witnessing alongside industry, government, and academic representatives the unveiling of a six-axis collaborative robotic arm. He welcomed more technology enterprises to invest in Kaohsiung and jointly build a new smart manufacturing cluster.
Mayor Chen emphasized that Fii Robotics' decision to establish the 'Robot Innovation Center' in Kaohsiung Software Park reflects strong confidence in the city's industrial development and talent ecosystem. He noted that Kaohsiung possesses both a solid foundation in traditional industries and advantages in advanced technology development. In recent years, the city government has actively promoted digital transformation, net-zero transition, and smart city initiatives, and will continue to serve as the strongest support for enterprises upgrading their operations and attracting more domestic and international companies to settle in Kaohsiung.
He pointed out that global AI technology is evolving from generative AI toward agent AI and physical AI, with smart robots and automated applications becoming a key industrial trend. Kaohsiung's complete supply chains in steel, petrochemicals, and manufacturing, when combined with AI and smart manufacturing technologies, will accelerate industrial upgrading and enhance international competitiveness. He expressed hope that more companies focusing on physical AI and smart manufacturing will join Kaohsiung to co-build a robust industrial ecosystem.
Mayor Chen also highlighted that the 'Robot Innovation Center' and the 'Kaohsiung Net-Zero Academy' are located in the same building, symbolizing Kaohsiung's dual commitment to technological innovation and sustainable development. The Net-Zero Academy has already trained over 30,000 participants and issued more than 3,000 professional certifications. The city government will continue to support enterprises in deepening their roots in Kaohsiung through talent development and industrial policies, driving continuous urban transformation and upgrading.
The Kaohsiung City Government stated that the Asia New Bay smart technology cluster has been continuously attracting international software giants and tech firms. Fii Robotics, recognizing the AI talent and R&D capabilities at Kaohsiung Software Park, established the 'Robot Innovation Center' to serve as its R&D core, linking the Qiaotou manufacturing base and overseas markets to expand its footprint in smart robotics and automation equipment.
The inauguration event also showcased Fii Robotics' self-developed innovations, including a smart robot coffee machine, a red bean pancake maker, a composite robot, an inspection mobile robot, and a six-axis collaborative robotic arm. These demonstrations highlighted the diverse applications of AI-integrated smart manufacturing and became the event's highlights.
Fii Robotics Chairman Ou Jun-nan stated that establishing the 'Robot Innovation Center' marks a significant milestone for the company and the most touching moment in his 25-year career. He expressed his hope that local talent in Kaohsiung can stay and grow in their hometown, serving southern industries.
