Introducing Digital Healthcare, Strengthening Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Home Care

Dr. Liu stated that in recent years, the hospital has continuously promoted digital healthcare, gradually introducing electronic operations in outpatient services. Moving forward, it plans to further digitize inpatient procedures, surgical records, and patient consent forms, building a comprehensive medical information management system to improve healthcare efficiency and patient safety.

Additionally, the hospital plans to install smart whiteboards, smart medication cabinets, automated measurement devices, and self-service systems. By integrating information and intelligently streamlining processes, these tools will help medical teams monitor patient conditions in real time, reduce risks from manual operations, and lay the foundation for smart healthcare development in new hospital facilities.

Regarding elderly care, Kuang-Hsiung Chang'an Hospital has long been rooted in the community, collaborating with organizations such as Songnian University, Fo Guang Shan Gangshan Lecture Hall, and the Lions Club to conduct health lectures, exercise promotion, and health education activities, enhancing public health literacy. The hospital also supports the National Health Insurance Administration’s home care policy by using digital tools to help homebound patients transmit health data such as blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Medical teams continuously monitor these metrics and provide health education, extending healthcare services into patients’ homes.

To meet the needs of elderly patients, the hospital has reconfigured its outpatient space, relocating the orthopedic clinic to the first floor to improve accessibility for seniors. The integration of orthopedics and rehabilitation is a hallmark of the hospital, which has long specialized in artificial knee and hip joint replacements and minimally invasive orthopedic surgeries. Emphasizing early rehabilitation after surgery, the hospital develops personalized treatment and rehabilitation plans based on individual conditions, helping patients regain functional independence and improve their quality of life.
