Le Méridien Taipei Banqiao Opens: Hou You-I Hails Milestone for New Taipei's International Tourism Development

New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-I attended the opening ceremony of 'Le Méridien Taipei Banqiao' today (31st), joining distinguished guests including Chen Jinzhong, Chairman of Fu Hwa Group, to witness a pivotal moment in New Taipei's advancement in international business and tourism.

Mayor Hou emphasized that Banqiao is a core hub of New Taipei City, with a population of 550,000 and the strategic advantage of a triple-rail transit integration. In 2019, the city government witnessed the signing of the partnership between Fu Hwa Group and Marriott International, and since then has supported the investment project through its 'One-Stop Investment Attraction' service. The successful opening of the hotel reflects international brands' confidence in New Taipei's investment environment and enhances the city's global visibility.

Since the launch of the 'One-Stop Investment Attraction' service in 2019, the city has facilitated 324 investment projects totaling over NT$775.5 billion (approximately USD$23.6 billion). The 'Le Méridien Taipei Banqiao' project alone represents an investment of over NT$23.6 billion (approximately USD$720 million), generating around 2,000 employment opportunities. Moving forward, the city will continue to foster a high-quality investment environment by improving transportation networks, promoting balanced regional development, and establishing benchmarks in tourism, culture, and the arts to attract more enterprises to invest and grow in New Taipei.

The Department of Economic Development stated that the 'Le Méridien Taipei Banqiao' will collaborate with nearby hotels such as 'Xinban Hilton Hotel,' 'Caesar Park Hotel Banqiao,' and 'Taipei Qutao Man旅,' enhancing Banqiao's capacity to host international business and tourism, thereby driving regional economic growth. The city will continue to leverage the 'One-Stop Investment Attraction' service to build an optimal investment ecosystem.
