To capture high-end and in-depth travelers from Southeast Asia, the Taichung City Government's Tourism Bureau will lead a Central Taiwan tourism promotion delegation to Singapore from August 4 to 8, jointly with Miaoli County, Changhua County, and Nantou County. This roadshow adopts a precise channel-matching strategy, including visits to six major local travel agencies and two airlines, as well as hosting a Central Taiwan B2B tourism matchmaking event. The four counties’ official representatives will bring local tourism industry leaders to conduct face-to-face negotiations, aiming to secure concrete business partnerships ahead of the autumn-winter travel season.

Tourism Bureau Director Chen Mei-hsiu stated that Singapore has long been an important and stable international source market for Taiwan, with Singaporean travelers known for their long stays, high spending power, and preference for high-quality experiences. As global travel trends shift toward regional in-depth tourism, the four counties of Central Taiwan have continuously integrated their tourism resources. Through this on-site engagement, they aim to showcase Central Taiwan’s diverse and rich tourism offerings to local travel trade, enhancing visibility and brand presence in the Singaporean market.

Director Chen noted that due to Singapore’s year-round tropical climate, local travelers show strong interest in mountain retreats, leisure farms, deep hiking trails, and refined dining experiences. The delegation has therefore specially invited local特色 businesses such as Princess Anne Garden, Box-Box Wang Creative Park, Lao Jing Premium Yakiniku, Lemon Forest, and Lavender Forest to join the mission. This brings Taichung’s yakiniku cuisine, fruit-picking charm, and theme park attractions directly to Singapore, offering Singaporean travel agents premium tourism highlights.

The Tourism Bureau will preview upcoming autumn-winter flagship events to Singaporean travel agents, including the Taichung International Carpet Festival featuring floral beauty and large-scale installations, the Lishan Valley Light Festival showcasing mountain nightscapes, and the Taichung Shopping Festival open to foreigners. New attractions for repeat visitors from Singapore will also be introduced, such as the Taichung Green & Music Image (with arts and library collections), the first large-scale marine education tourism site in central Taiwan—the Taichung Ocean Aquarium—and the Huan Shan Hunter Trail, a new landmark offering forest healing and indigenous cultural experiences.

The Tourism Bureau emphasized that through site visits and B2B negotiations, they aim to assist Singaporean travel agencies in packaging Central Taiwan’s mountains, cuisine, and festivals into best-selling tour products, thereby attracting more Singaporean travelers to deeply explore Taichung and other Central Taiwan counties in the second half of the year, injecting strong growth momentum into local tourism industries. Going forward, Taichung will continue to serve as the gateway to Central Taiwan, linking Changhua, Nantou, and Miaoli to create distinctive travel itineraries and provide international travelers with more comprehensive and in-depth tourism experiences.
