After receiving notification from Taipei City Government, Yunlin County immediately dispatched officials to conduct an on-site inspection. The investigation confirmed that the product was commissioned by Weiga International Co., Ltd. and that Yunlin-based Asia Enterprise Co., Ltd. was only responsible for filling, packaging, and labeling. The camellia oil raw materials and manufacturing facility are not located in Caoling Village, Yunlin County. The Health Bureau urges the public not to mistakenly associate the product with locally produced Caoling Village camellia oil, in order to protect local farmers' rights and food safety standards.
Yunlin County Health Bureau Clarifies Camellia Oil Raw Material Origin! Asia Enterprise Only Handled Filling and Packaging
Following notification from the Taipei City Government Health Bureau, Yunlin County Health Bureau immediately conducted an on-site inspection at Asia Enterprise Co., Ltd. The investigation revealed that the company was only contracted to perform filling, packaging, and labeling of the 'Local Jinhua Camellia Oil' and did not engage in oil extraction or any heating or other processing procedures.
All raw materials, packaging, and product labels related to this case were provided entirely by the commissioning company, Weiga International Co., Ltd. The batch of camellia oil raw materials and the manufacturing facility are not from Caoling Village, Yunlin County. Consumers are advised not to be misled by the product name or related media reports.
All Affected Products Have Been Shipped! Health Bureau Reviews Production Records and Traces Distribution
Regarding the on-site inspection and shipment records, Yunlin County Health Bureau stated that all non-compliant camellia oil products have already been shipped out, with no raw materials or finished products remaining in the factory. Inspectors thoroughly reviewed production processes, equipment cleaning and disinfection procedures, and related procurement, acceptance, and shipment records. All relevant documents have been collected for further verification and cross-checking, supporting subsequent administrative investigations.
Yunlin County Health Bureau stated it will continue to cooperate with central and other local health authorities to trace the product's distribution and will consider appropriate actions in accordance with the Food Safety and Sanitation Management Act to jointly safeguard public food safety. The Bureau also urges the public to rely on information released by official authorities, avoid spreading unverified information, and help maintain accurate food safety communication.
