The 56th National Skills Competition concluded successfully on the 2nd at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, gathering outstanding competitors from across Taiwan. Trainees from the Ministry of Labor's Workforce Development Agency Kaoping-Penghu-East Taiwan Branch (hereinafter referred to as the Kaoping Branch) achieved an impressive performance, winning a total of 28 medals, including 5 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze, demonstrating not only the competitors' exceptional abilities but also the accumulated results of long-term training and development.
In the Plumbing and Heating category, Kaoping Branch trainees Li Song-Yan and Hou Si-Qi won gold and silver medals respectively. Both previously competed in the Electrical Installation youth and junior categories, where they also achieved excellent results. However, recognizing the current market's severe shortage of dual-skilled talent proficient in both 'electrical control' and 'plumbing systems,' they decided to switch disciplines this year to enhance their expertise in plumbing and heating. Under the meticulous guidance of Kaoping Branch trainers Huang Bo-Ying and Huang Zhong-Xing, and through knowledge sharing from senior peers, they continuously refined their techniques and competition strategies. Ultimately, they surpassed their limits and achieved outstanding results. The trainees expressed excitement, stating that this honor stems not only from their own efforts but also from the trainers' patient guidance and encouragement, which empowered them to bravely take on challenges and perform at their best on the competition stage.
Good news also emerged from the Welding category. Lin Zi-Zhen, who narrowly missed victory in last year's national competition, transformed failure into motivation for continuous improvement, determined to break through and reclaim glory this year. During training, under the careful instruction of Kaoping Branch trainers Lu Jian-Ying and Qiu Jia-Hua, she re-learned various welding materials, progressively advancing from fundamental skills to advanced practical applications. Through repeated practice and simulated competitions, she continuously enhanced her professional techniques and on-site adaptability, ultimately securing the gold medal in the Welding category, demonstrating perseverance and a commitment to excellence.
Additionally, the Industrial 4.0 category showcased strong performance, with Wang Cheng-You and Zhang Heng-Rui winning gold medals, and Wu Cheng-Yan and Shi You-Quan earning silver medals. In the Electrical Installation category, Qiu You-Jun also broke through with a stable and skillful performance to claim the gold medal. Kaoping Branch trainees achieved consecutive successes across multiple categories, demonstrating solid professional skills and on-site capabilities. This highlights the branch's long-term commitment to skill cultivation and cross-domain technical training, reaffirming the recognition of its training strategies and quality, adding further prestige to the branch.
Kaoping Branch Director Guo Geng-Hua stated that in the wave of globalization, skilled talent is highly valued by countries worldwide and is a key national competitiveness. He expressed immense pride in the trainees' outstanding achievements this year. The Kaoping Branch has long been dedicated to skill training and deeply understands the importance of skill development for youth career advancement. Therefore, it has consistently collaborated with various schools, investing professional resources and practical experience to train excellent talent across multiple occupational fields. The goal is to ensure that 'laying solid foundations' is not just a slogan but a tangible skill inheritance, helping youth build skills, enhance expertise, and cultivate more outstanding technical talent to continuously inject new momentum into national industrial development and technological innovation.
