The Bureau of Labor Funds Management today (3rd) released its latest investment performance. As of June 2025, the total return for all labor funds reached NT$2.2024 trillion, with an overall yield of 28.46%. Despite slower gains in Taiwan's stock market and global financial volatility, June alone generated NT$77.17 billion in profit. The total asset size of labor funds has now grown to NT$8.8955 trillion.

Among the individual funds, the new labor retirement fund—covering the rights of 12.92 million workers—has reached NT$5.79635 trillion. Its cumulative returns for the first six months amount to NT$1.52786 trillion, yielding 28.19%. This translates to an average payout of NT$118,000 per worker, setting a new historical high. Meanwhile, the legacy labor retirement fund stands at NT$1.16226 trillion with returns of NT$379.17 billion and a yield of 40.74%. The labor insurance fund totals NT$1.68207 trillion, generating returns of NT$288.27 billion and a yield of 25.17%.

Regarding the record-breaking dividends, the Labor Insurance Bureau clarified that the figure of NT$118,000 is an average calculated from total earnings and participant numbers. Since each worker’s daily contributions, accumulated principal, and contribution duration vary, actual payouts are distributed proportionally—not equally. Therefore, not every worker receives exactly NT$118,000.

As for disbursement timing, the Bureau completes the previous year’s profit-and-loss settlement by the end of February and allocates earnings to individual accounts by the end of March. However, these funds are considered part of retirement savings and remain locked in the account until the worker turns 60, when they may apply for withdrawal under relevant regulations.
