Cat Army Invades Huashan Town: A Cute Culinary Journey Begins This Summer

This summer, visiting Taipei's Huashan isn't just about historic warehouses, cultural exhibitions, and urban greenery—you might also encounter a troop of cats that have escaped from a video game. Ting Hsin International Culture & Travel's Huashan Town Lounge & Restaurant has partnered with the hit mobile game 'Battle Cats' to launch a limited-time 'LOUNGE Cats' event from now until August 31, offering themed meals, collaborative desserts, collectible tableware, and immersive decor to create an adorable urban journey that's edible, photogenic, and souvenir-worthy.

Huashan Town, originally a bank warehouse, preserves its American-style flat-slab structure and integrates banking heritage, distilling culture, and retro design into its space. With 'Battle Cats' now in residence, familiar characters appear on windows, walls, and dining corners, while the hotel's ambassador, Baobi, hides discreetly for guests to discover along the way.

A short walk from Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station, visitors can explore the Huashan 1914 Creative Park before heading to the lounge for a curated meal. This seamless blend of exhibitions, markets, and dining forms a perfect half-day itinerary for families, gamers, and urban explorers.

The collaboration's main dishes center on Japanese flavors and cute presentations. The 'Tomato Cream Chicken Rice' features a sweet-sour red sauce made from tomatoes and vegetables, topped with tender chicken thigh. The 'Miso Cream Salmon Rice' blends red and white miso with cream, served with salmon and salmon roe. The 'Braised Wagyu Cheek Curry' combines vegetables, apples, and chocolate for a rich, mature flavor profile.

Each main dish is adorned with edible cat-shaped rice paper. As the white cats peek out from the plates, familiar dishes transform into scenes from the game, prompting guests to grab their phones before their spoons.

One highlight is the real-life recreation of the game's 'cat food can' item. Opening the can reveals a light cheesecake printed with Baobi and cat characters—moist, airy, and delicately creamy. The can itself becomes a keepsake after the dessert is enjoyed.

The 'Tank Cat Gold Bar Financier' nods to the venue's banking past with a gold bar shape, featuring character designs and scents of butter, almond, and orange. This sweet treat merges historical architecture, banking motifs, and beloved characters, offering a fresh, lighthearted take on Huashan Town's local story.

Beverages include Thai iced tea, 'Peach Love' non-alcoholic sparkling drink (peach and lime), and classic latte coffee. Thai tea offers bold tea notes with warm spices; the peach fizz is refreshing for hot afternoons; and the latte delivers a smooth blend of espresso and milk.

Selected drinks come with a limited-edition 'Battle Cats' collaboration mug, available daily in limited quantities, one set per person. Featuring Baobi and Tank Cat designs, the mug doubles as a drink vessel and a must-have collectible for fans.
