Taiwan's New Amusement Park Opens on August 8: Free Access to 30 Rides, Just 1-Minute Walk from Light Rail

The 'Kaohsiung Family Amusement Park,' transformed from the former Taiwan Railway Kaohsiung Factory, will officially open on August 8. In addition to the light rail, the city government has launched a special free shuttle bus service during holidays in August for those accustomed to transferring via the MRT. The shuttle route runs primarily between Exit 3 of the MRT 'Cultural Center Station' and the Light Rail 'Kaisyuan-Wuchang Station,' operating from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with buses departing every 20 minutes. It is important to note that the last return trip departs from 'Kaisyuan-Wuchang Station' at 7:00 p.m. For those preferring bus transportation, visitors can take Bus No. 100 to the 'Railway Factory' stop on Wuqing Road. Additionally, during holidays, the operator will run a special No. 100 shuttle service from 'Ruifeng Station' to 'Far Eastern Department Store (MRT Sanduo Shopping District Station),' with a special stop at the Kaohsiung Family Amusement Park to facilitate access for city residents. Visitors coming from the north, west, or via National Highway No. 1 are advised to take Sanduo 1st Road and connect to Wuqing 2nd Road to enter the park's parking lot. Vehicles from the south can take Kaixuan 3rd Road to Wuchang Road, then turn onto Wuqing 2nd Road. For those approaching from the east, it is recommended to take Xinfu Road to Ersheng Road, enter the Ersheng Parking Lot, and then follow on-site walking route signs to the park. When exiting, all vehicles parked in the park's parking lot must leave via the Wuchang Road exit and follow police instructions to proceed straight onto Fude 3rd Road. The Transportation Bureau explained that, to effectively reduce traffic load on Ersheng Road, one additional entrance and exit have been added at both the Ersheng Parking Lot and Wuqing 2nd Road to分流 traffic.
