Despite continuous disruptions in global oil transportation routes, China has a way to purchase oil from Iran. The 'United Against Nuclear Iran' (UANI) reports that Iranian oil is first transported to the waters near Malaysia, then transferred from Iranian tankers to other ships, and continues to China to evade sanctions. Even amid war and U.S. maritime blockades, China can bypass shipping bottlenecks through transshipment and continue to obtain low-cost Iranian oil. Analysts say Iran appears to have taken advantage of the one-month pause in the U.S. blockade to rush out oil exports. Before the blockade was reinstated in mid-July, Iran had exported oil worth approximately $50 to $60 billion (about NT$1,600 to 1,900 billion).
