With China Airlines (2610) recently launching new direct flights such as Kaohsiung to Okinawa and Taipei to Phoenix, along with increased frequencies to popular destinations including Seoul, Busan, and Prague, aviation capacity continues to expand. Anticipating sustained high demand for overseas travel among Taiwanese nationals, Lion Travel (2731) has announced a time-limited partnership with China Airlines, offering discounts of up to 18% off on all routes from now until August 17. Additionally, select popular routes—Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Cebu, and Okinawa—will feature limited-time round-trip fares starting at NT$3,888, aiming to capture travel demand during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, and year-end holiday periods.

According to statistics from Taiwan's Tourism Administration, outbound travelers exceeded 10 million in the first half of this year—an increase of 16.6% compared to the same period last year—indicating continued growth in overseas tourism. Analyzing its own ticket sales data, Lion Travel found that short-haul destinations such as Tokyo, Osaka, Shanghai, Fukuoka, and Bangkok remain most popular, while long-haul markets are led by Sydney, followed by Vancouver, Melbourne, London, and Ontario (USA), reflecting rising demand for both short-trip freedom travel and long-distance leisure vacations.

Lion Travel stated that with the approaching Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, combined with the rollout of new China Airlines routes, another wave of booking momentum is expected. To capitalize on this trend, the exclusive promotional campaign aims to double overall ticket issuance volume during the campaign period compared to regular levels.

The highlight of this campaign is the limited-quantity NT$3,888 round-trip tickets, available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting August 5 at 10:00 AM. Destinations rotate weekly among Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Cebu, and Okinawa, with travel dates valid from September 1 to December 31, 2024.

In addition, discounted fares apply across all China Airlines routes—including Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, and the United States—with economy class tickets discounted up to 18% off and business class up to 10% off. The newly launched Phoenix route offers savings exceeding NT$3,000, with eligible travel dates extending to January 20, 2027, enabling travelers to plan ahead for autumn, winter, and New Year getaways.

Beyond airfare discounts, Lion Travel is offering enhanced member benefits: customers purchasing round-trip Hong Kong flights for two or more passengers and booking designated hotels for two nights or more will receive one complimentary weekday night stay. For U.S.-bound itineraries, orders exceeding NT$100,000 qualify for a one-way airport transfer service and a NT$900 shopping voucher.

During the campaign, additional member-exclusive perks include app-only discount codes, spending rebates via designated CTBC credit cards, weekend-wide site promotions, and bonus Lion Coins for first-time buyers—further enhancing the appeal of this promotional offer.
