To assist youth who are beginning their job search or facing career uncertainty in smoothly taking their first step into employment, the Workforce Development Agency of Taiwan's Ministry of Labor is promoting the 'Youth Employment Support Program.' This program provides comprehensive support through one-on-one career counseling, resume reviews, and mock interviews to help youth build confidence in the workplace. It also offers dual financial support in the form of a 'Job Search Allowance' and an 'Employment Incentive Bonus,' with eligible individuals receiving up to NT$48,000 in total assistance.

The 'Youth Employment Support Program' divides its financial assistance into two main components: the 'Job Search Allowance' and the 'Employment Incentive Bonus.' When combined, eligible participants can receive up to NT$48,000.

1. Job Search Allowance (up to NT$18,000) During the job search period, youth who comply with requirements—maintaining job search records and receiving guidance from public employment service agencies—can receive NT$6,000 per month for up to three months (totaling up to NT$18,000):

- First payment (apply within 37 days of enrollment): Within 30 days of starting the program, complete at least two job searches and receive at least one career consultation or counseling session to receive NT$6,000.

- Second payment (apply within 67 days of enrollment): If not employed within 30 days, and during days 31 to 60, complete at least three job searches and receive at least one job referral service, to receive NT$6,000.

- Third payment (apply within 97 days of enrollment): If not employed within 60 days, and during days 61 to 90, complete at least three job searches and receive at least two job referral services, to receive NT$6,000.

2. Employment Incentive Bonus (up to NT$30,000) Participants who successfully find a full-time, monthly-paid job during the program period (within 90 days) and remain stably employed with the same employer can apply for an additional employment incentive:

- Employed within 60 days: Receive NT$6,000 after 30 consecutive days of employment, NT$20,000 after 90 days, and an additional NT$10,000 after 180 days (maximum NT$36,000; combined with the Job Search Allowance, the total remains capped at NT$48,000).

- Employed between days 61 and 90: Receive NT$20,000 after 90 consecutive days of employment, and an additional NT$10,000 after 180 days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Can I apply if I haven't graduated or am currently on leave from school? No. Applicants must have obtained a graduation or withdrawal certificate. Students on leave still hold formal student status and do not meet the 'not currently enrolled' requirement.

Q2: Can I participate if I am doing part-time work or temporary jobs? Yes, if your part-time job's labor or occupational injury insurance premium is below the first tier (currently NT$28,590 or less), you are still considered eligible for the inactive status and may apply.

Q3: Can I receive unemployment benefits or vocational training living allowances at the same time? No. Based on the principle of non-duplication of government subsidies, if you are already receiving unemployment benefits, Youth Pre-Employment Training Learning Incentive, or vocational training living allowances during the same period, you cannot receive the Job Search Allowance from this program.
