Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Taipei mayoral candidate Shen Po-yang visited Raohe Night Market on the evening of the 4th, stopping by the long-established eatery 'Tung Fa Hao Mien Hsien'. The shop owner invited him to sign the wall, then lifted a menu to reveal the previously concealed signature of Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an, stating it had been 'covered for a long time'. The footage quickly spread online, prompting some netizens to flood the restaurant’s Google reviews with one-star ratings, turning an ordinary campaign stop into a political controversy.

Shen responded by calling such retaliatory actions against businesses due to politics a 'red line', urging Mayor Chiang to appeal to his supporters not to leave negative reviews unrelated to food or service, which could harm business operations.

Following the controversy, Kuomintang legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin posted on Facebook on the 5th, urging Chiang’s supporters to remain rational. She stated clearly, 'There is no need to launch online attacks against the shop.' She added, 'We don’t need to act like the “Green Birds” who constantly target others and provoke public resentment. We must avoid turning our support into a counterproductive force.'

While acknowledging she disagreed with the shop’s actions—inviting Chiang to sign, covering it up, and deliberately revealing it when Shen arrived—Hsu described the move as 'unnecessary and disrespectful'. Nevertheless, she emphasized that while they might disagree, they should still respect the shop’s decision, saying, 'Disagreement and respect are not mutually exclusive,' and called on supporters not to initiate cyber campaigns based on political stance.

Hsu concluded by advising that people should support businesses they like within their means, and for those they don’t, simply 'wish them well'. She said, 'Living well is always the most important thing—don’t let trivial, childish acts affect your life.'
