To promote the construction of the Kaohsiung MRT Yellow Line and align with the progress of the YC02 contract for Y6 Station, traffic control measures on Benguan Road (from Lane 40 to Hesheng Street) will be adjusted starting August 6, 115. The construction zone will maintain one lane in each direction, with the speed limit reduced to 30 km/h. Drivers passing through this section are urged to slow down and pay attention to traffic safety.
The MRT Engineering Bureau stated that the current adjustment in traffic control follows the successful completion of sidewalk reduction work, enabling the transition to new traffic arrangements. Once completed, the project will proceed to the preliminary construction of the diaphragm wall on the northern side of Benguan Road, including trench protection and guide trench construction, gradually advancing toward the main station construction phase. Other sections of the road will undergo phased traffic control adjustments in coordination with utility relocation progress.
In addition to maintaining one lane in each direction, comprehensive traffic control facilities, warning signs, and guidance measures have been enhanced. To minimize disruption to daily traffic, the MRT Bureau has carefully planned the traffic layout, installing full traffic control infrastructure, warning signs, and directional guidance. Traffic officers will be stationed on-site to direct traffic. The construction team will strictly enforce site safety management, environmental protection, and traffic guidance, adjusting measures in real time based on actual traffic flow to ensure both construction quality and road efficiency.
The MRT Engineering Bureau particularly reminds drivers that lane configurations along the Benguan Road construction section will be adjusted according to engineering needs. Drivers should slow down when passing through the construction zone, follow traffic signs, road markings, and on-site personnel instructions, and avoid speeding or abrupt lane changes. Where possible, the public is advised to plan alternative routes in advance to avoid the construction area and save valuable travel time.
Upon completion, the MRT Yellow Line will effectively connect the existing MRT network, strengthening transportation links between the urban core and key medical, commercial, and residential hubs, providing citizens with higher-quality and more convenient public transit services. The bureau appreciates public understanding and cooperation during the construction period and invites everyone to look forward to a more comprehensive Kaohsiung MRT network.
