The '2026 New Taipei Campus Ad Makers' creative video submission contest, organized by the New Taipei City Government's Department of Information, continues to gain strong support and popularity among young students. This year, a record-high 143 entries were submitted. After intense competition in the preliminary and semi-final proposal interviews, 12 finalist teams were announced at the end of June. Throughout July and August, the program continues its collaboration with top-tier advertising and production companies to host video workshops during the summer break.

Marking the 10th anniversary of 'New Taipei Campus Ad Makers,' the Department of Information has added a special legacy-themed lecture titled 'Senior Mentorship: From Campus to Advertising Industry – Real-World Experience.' The event invited Wu An-qi, a member of the 2019 first-prize-winning team, to return and share her journey from student life to professional success. This initiative aims to not only enhance the participants’ skills but also allow them to stand on the shoulders of alumni and envision the endless possibilities in the video industry.

The Department of Information stated that beginner and advanced video workshops were held during the summer, with the special 'Senior Mentorship' session taking place on August 4. Wu An-qi, who won both the Grand Prize and the Judge’s Special Award in 2019 for the project 'New Taipei Domination,' is now a co-founder of Bole Images. During the lecture, she shared her experiences from participating in the competition, attending workshops, producing videos, and interning at Wunderman Thompson after winning. Wu emphasized that her competition experience greatly benefited her post-graduation career, including founding her own video production company. As a seasoned professional, she also passed on practical knowledge on transforming student projects into client-understandable proposals and building a personal brand, encouraging the 12 finalist teams to see their campus creations not just as contest entries, but as career launchpads.

Li Li-zhen, Director of the Department of Information, stated that over its 10-year history, 'New Taipei Campus Ad Makers' has become a vital platform for young people to express creativity and demonstrate video production skills. Many students have completed their first advertising work through the competition and entered the video industry via workshop exposure. To mark the 10th anniversary, the Department has upgraded the program by inviting past winners to share insights for the first time, while continuing partnerships with renowned firms such as VML, Grey Global Group, Xue Peng Advertising, Shang Jin Yi Fei Studio, Dentsu Taiwan, and Huayuan. The 12 finalist teams will engage in script discussions with advertising experts and attend lectures on advertising strategy, AI tools, creative copywriting, behind-the-scenes production, and legal literacy, receiving comprehensive support from creation to career exploration.

The 2026 edition attracted enthusiastic participation from students across 6 counties and cities, representing 28 schools. The entries covered diverse topics, including New Taipei’s Fresh Milk Happiness Week and the Danjiang Bridge, showcasing outstanding creativity and innovative storytelling, earning high praise from judges during both preliminary and semi-final stages. The 12 finalist teams are expected to complete their final videos by September, followed by a social media voting campaign to select the most popular work. The Department invites citizens to support youth creativity and stay engaged with the New Taipei moments captured through students’ lenses.
