Zenyum Launches Advanced Invisible Orthodontics, Expands Options for Complex Dental Cases

Invisible aligners are no longer limited to mild dental adjustments. Zenyum has announced the launch of its advanced treatment program, Zenyum Clear Ultra, extending eligibility to more complex cases such as tooth extractions, severe dental crowding, and discrepancies in upper and lower jaw alignment—offering patients a broader range of orthodontic treatment options.

However, the brand emphasizes that every individual’s teeth, alveolar bone structure, and bite condition vary significantly. Whether invisible aligners are suitable must be determined only after a comprehensive oral examination and professional assessment by a licensed dentist.

Demand for transparent aligners continues to rise, yet complex cases still require expert clinical judgment. While traditional fixed braces can address various levels of dental misalignment, some patients are concerned about appearance, dietary restrictions, and cleaning difficulties during treatment—making clear, removable aligners an increasingly popular alternative.

Previously, invisible aligners were commonly used only for mild misalignments or front-teeth corrections. Cases involving extractions, prominent overbites, underbites, severe crowding, or extensive posterior tooth movement required more complex treatment planning and often needed supplementary devices such as temporary anchorage devices (TADs) or palatal expanders.

Kelvin Koh, Managing Director for Taiwan and Hong Kong at Zenyum, noted that many consumers in the market desire invisible aligners but have been limited by the complexity of their dental conditions. With the introduction of the Ultra plan, partnering dentists now have greater flexibility in designing personalized treatment plans.

Orthodontic specialist Dr. Chen Yu-De explained that complex orthodontic cases involve more than just aligning teeth—they also require careful consideration of occlusion, root positioning, alveolar bone health, and the distance teeth need to move. Therefore, these cases demand more comprehensive treatment planning and ongoing monitoring.

The Ultra plan supports longer-term adjustment strategies, allowing dentists to evaluate whether adjunctive tools such as TADs or expanders are appropriate based on the patient’s condition. However, actual treatment content, duration, and achievable outcomes will vary depending on individual circumstances.

Upfront Price Disclosure – Reducing Communication Gaps in Treatment

Kelvin Koh highlighted that the brand maintains a transparent pricing and treatment information policy. This allows consumers to understand the plan details, adjustment methods, and potential additional requirements before starting treatment, minimizing information asymmetry.

Treatment diagnosis and planning are conducted by licensed dentists. Patients can track progress through a dedicated mobile application, while customer support teams assist with general procedural inquiries. If patients experience tooth discomfort, poor aligner fit, or other oral issues during treatment, they should return to the clinic immediately for professional evaluation and care.
