New Taipei mayoral candidate and legislator Su Chiao-hui has continued deepening grassroots engagement, hosting over forty local forums since April with Democratic Progressive Party New Taipei City councilors and candidates to listen to public opinion and present her municipal vision. Today (7th), Su released a highlight video of the latest forum on her social media platform, sharing exchanges with New Taipei City Councilors Peng Chia-yun and Huang Shu-chun, and councilor candidate Chen Dai-yin. Covering topics from family caregiving and local infrastructure to child-friendly cities, the event showcased the compassionate strength and policy actions of women in public office.
Focusing on Family Care, Healthcare Infrastructure, and Child-Friendly Environments
Su emphasized that women’s participation in public affairs enables them to transform their experiences as working mothers balancing career and family into policies closer to citizens’ needs, making urban governance more compassionate. She expressed her hope to collaborate further with outstanding female representatives to jointly build a New Taipei City that meets the needs of all generations—warm and progressive.
During the Sanchong forum, Su noted that both she and Peng Chia-yun are working women who deeply understand the pressures of family caregiving. Together, they proposed the 'Three Major Family Care' policy, including subsidies for professional caregivers, night-time childcare, and a platform to search for temporary childcare services—aiming to establish a comprehensive support system to become the strongest backing for family caregivers.
Regarding local development, Su stated that she will work with Peng Chia-yun to advance the 'Sanchong 2.0' plan, accelerating the construction of the Third Medical Building at the original Sanchong Health Center site, pushing forward the Second Main Library project, developing the Yinsin Future City, and increasing parking spaces to enhance Sanchong’s overall medical, cultural, and living functions.
Speaking about Banqiao’s development, Su praised Huang Shu-chun for long-standing frontline efforts—advocating for police and firefighter rights, assisting vulnerable families and children, and maintaining close cooperation with local village heads to thoroughly understand each neighborhood’s development needs—calling her a model of grassroots service.
She said she will work with Huang Shu-chun to promote the Banqiao Medical Park, strengthening medical capacity in emergency/critical care, rare diseases, and early intervention for children. They will also push forward public-led urban renewal to improve aging neighborhoods and optimize public spaces. Additionally, the National Children’s Future Museum has completed its tender announcement; she will continue monitoring progress toward creating Taiwan’s first museum dedicated to children.
Regarding Xinzhuang, Su pointed out that Chen Dai-yin brings over ten years of public service experience from both central and local government levels. As a mother, Chen proposed the '100-Centimeter City Vision,' which resonates with Su’s own '95-Centimeter Friendly City' concept—both aiming to reexamine roads, street corners, and public spaces from children’s perspectives to create safer, more welcoming living environments.
Su emphasized that women are not only vital participants in public affairs but can also turn life experiences into concrete policies. Whether it’s Chen’s promotion of child-friendly cities, Peng’s focus on family care and Sanchong development, or Huang’s long-term grassroots dedication protecting children’s health and safety—all demonstrate the significant value women bring to public governance.
She stated that moving forward, she will continue collaborating with the 'New Taipei Team' to advance various construction projects and care policies, building a truly age-inclusive New Taipei where children grow up safely, youth pursue their dreams confidently, and seniors live comfortably.
