With modern lifestyles increasingly dependent on 3C devices and burdened by daily stress, the 3rd Senior Health Industry Expo kicked off grandly from August 7 to 9 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. The Hualien County Government created the largest exhibition zone, 'Hualien: Healing Realm,' launching a free 'Collect Stamps – Five Powers Experience' challenge. Participants who complete all stages receive a textured eco-friendly tote bag made of Xiao-Shihua stone and exclusive A-Yuan fragrance gifts. Additionally, one lucky pair (two people) will be drawn each day to win round-trip 'Mountain Mist' sightseeing train tickets worth approximately NT$7,800.
The 'Hualien: Healing Realm' pavilion debuted at Taipei World Trade Center, where Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei promoted her 'Five Powers' philosophy of well-being.
On the opening day, the 'Hualien: Healing Realm' pavilion, curated by the Hualien County Government, became the centerpiece of the expo. The cross-genre ensemble 'Caoli Cat' opened the event with an elegant fusion performance combining Eastern pipa and Western cello.
Former Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-pyng recalled his time stationed in Hualien decades ago, living there for over a month. He deeply appreciated Hualien’s majestic mountains and seas, calling it a uniquely blessed place, and remarked, “The people of Hualien are truly fortunate.” He praised Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei and her team for successfully integrating tourism, leisure, and healthcare industries, transforming Hualien into a holistic healing destination. He expressed hope that this model could expand internationally, attracting long-term visitors and medical tourists from around the world.

Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei emphasized that modern life revolves around smartphones. She encouraged visitors to slow down upon entering the pavilion, beginning with the music, and engage their five senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—to experience the 'Five Powers': physical strength, recovery power, nourishing power, peace of mind, and connectivity. She highlighted how this aligns with Hualien’s long-standing promotion of local consumption and food-based wellness, urging people to rediscover the joy of the present moment. She invited everyone to buy a ticket to Hualien and re-experience the simple happiness of returning to nature.
The 'Five Powers Stamp Collection Experience' is now live—free gifts include the Xiao-Shihua eco-tote and A-Yuan fragrance cards.
To promote a low-burden healthy lifestyle, the 'Hualien: Healing Realm' pavilion features diverse interactive experiences and collaborations with renowned brands. Visitors who complete challenges across the five domains—physical strength, recovery, peace of mind, connection, and nourishment—can claim limited-edition gifts such as the textured Xiao-Shihua eco-friendly tote bag.
The pavilion introduced Daiso International’s smart stand-sit elliptical trainer, designed for low impact and joint protection, featuring smooth pedaling motion and compatibility with a dedicated app for tracking workouts. Scanning the QR code on-site directs users to the official website, where they can access practical health information.
A-Yuan, a well-known brand, developed a special Hualien-inspired fragrance inspired by the Lishui River, blending cypress, violet, and rosemary to activate the sense of recovery through scent. By scanning the QR code on-site and adding A-Yuan’s official LINE account, visitors receive a complimentary fragrance card and travel-sized soap.
Daily Grand Prize: A Pair of NT$7,800 'Mountain Mist' Sightseeing Train Tickets
Throughout the three-day event, a rich lineup of expert salons and stage performances took place. Speakers included Zhu Jiaxiang, Director of Hualien County Health Bureau; senior influencer 'Golden Gang Daddy'; renowned columnist Liu Weigong; and Ma Zhongyuan, founder of Gao Shan Forest Base, who shared insights on health tourism and nature-based healing.
On August 8, Ms. Ya Ying led a joyful 'Silver-Age Sing-Along Rhythm Party.' On August 9, the 'Yi-Wu-Rong Dance Troupe (Makakiting)' performed passionate indigenous dances, showcasing the cultural charm of Amis hand-in-hand traditions.
Visitors participating in on-site quizzes and stamp collection challenges were entered into a daily raffle. At the end of each exhibition day, one winner was drawn to receive a pair of 'Mountain Mist' sightseeing train tickets worth approximately NT$7,800—one winner, two tickets!
The 3rd Senior Health Industry Expo runs until August 9. Visitors can reach Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 via the Taipei MRT's World Trade Center Station.
