Due to inspections by the Kaohsiung City Government Water Resources Bureau revealing the need for drainage system maintenance at the Zhongzheng Underpass (westbound) in Lingya District, nighttime cleaning operations will be conducted from August 10 to 12, 115, between 8:00 PM and 7:00 AM the following day. During this period, westbound traffic will remain open, with only the inner lane closed.
The Water Resources Bureau stated that traffic cones, warning lights, and construction signage will be installed according to regulations, and volunteer traffic officers will be deployed on-site to guide vehicles safely. Drivers passing through the area are urged to follow on-site traffic instructions and signs, slow down in advance, and pay attention to the safety of workers and equipment.
To minimize traffic disruption, the cleaning work has been scheduled during nighttime hours, avoiding peak daytime congestion. Additional personnel and machinery will be deployed to expedite operations, with normal lane access restored each day after completion. The bureau sincerely appreciates public understanding and cooperation for any inconvenience caused.
Additionally, the Kaohsiung City Government Water Resources Bureau will host an educational event titled “Green Forest: Soil Conservation Fun Challenge!” from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the 15th at Guoling Natural Park (No. 1 Golf Turf Area). Families and citizens are invited to participate in outdoor walking and interactive games to learn about soil and water conservation, disaster prevention, and environmental sustainability in an engaging way.
The event integrates the ecological environment of Guoling Natural Park and features four main themes: “Guardians of the Earth – Soil Conservation Knowledge PK,” “Green Forest Walk for Wellness,” “Soil Conservation Knowledge Challenge Game,” and “Nature-Loving Classroom – Acorn Seed Keychain DIY.” Through these interactive activities, participants will understand how hillside conservation and soil stabilization help safeguard land, prevent sediment disasters, and promote sustainable development.
The event will also include promotional booths hosted by the Council of Agriculture’s Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation Agency, the Tropical Horticultural Research Station (Fengshan), Chiayi City Government Construction Department, Pingtung County Government Water Resources Office, and the Kaohsiung Soil and Water Conservation Service Team. These booths will provide information on soil conservation, disaster preparedness, environmental education, and legal consultations, offering attendees comprehensive and practical knowledge.
The Kaohsiung City Government warmly invites all citizens to participate and enjoy learning about soil conservation through walking and interactive challenges. Participants who complete designated game stations can redeem limited-edition promotional items while supplies last.
