In response to Typhoon Dolphin, considering the uncertain rainfall and regulated water release from Shihmen Reservoir that may cause downstream river levels to rise and flood high-beach areas, New Taipei City's high-beach parking lots will begin restricting vehicle access today (August 8) at 12:00 PM, allowing only exit movements. Starting at 4:00 PM, any vehicles still parked in these areas will be forcibly towed. From 12:00 PM onward, red and yellow lines near cross gates will be temporarily opened for parking. The Water Resources Bureau urges citizens to move their vehicles out of high-beach areas as early as possible. Additionally, all citywide cross gates and over-levee roads will switch to exit-only access at 5:00 PM today (August 8), with full closure completed by 6:00 PM. The New Taipei City Government Water Resources Bureau reiterates its warning: for safety reasons during the typhoon, the public should avoid entering riverside parks along the Xindian Creek, Dahan Creek, Erchong Floodway, and Tamsui River to prevent potential dangers.
