In the Han Kuang 42 exercise, the Second Theater Command executed a cross-region reinforcement mission using multiple civilian container trucks. The containers carried ammunition, fuel, and other supplies. Today (9th), during a rehearsal at the 5th Regional Support Command, a civilian large truck carrying artillery shells had some rounds slide onto the road while turning due to loosened securing straps. Ahead of the evening's cross-region reinforcement mission, Second Theater Command's commander, Lieutenant General Chiu Chih-feng, personally inspected civilian container trucks and military vehicles, reminding drivers to prioritize safety and encouraging troops to remain confident.

Defense Minister Ku Li-hsiung previously told media in a joint interview that survivability and operational flexibility of military equipment are primary considerations for the armed forces. To enhance survivability, the military is moving toward 'mobility' and even 'de-identification'—in the future, the public may see many container trucks on the road, but won't know whether they belong to the military or what they carry.

Storm Media conducted embedded reporting with the Second Theater Command and witnessed numerous civilian flatbed trucks and large cargo vehicles in action. Flatbeds transported armored vehicles for rapid reinforcement, while large cargo trucks were fully de-identified, carrying ammunition, fuel, rations, and other supplies—indistinguishable from civilian logistics on public roads.

However, today at 14:00, during an ammunition resupply operation at the 5th Regional Support Command under the Army Logistics Command, a civilian truck transporting 8-inch howitzer shells had some rounds slide onto the road due to loosened securing straps while turning.

Since the Second Theater Command was also scheduled to conduct a northbound cross-region reinforcement mission this evening using civilian trucks to transport ammunition, General Chiu first held meetings with civilian drivers and issued two directives: first, to monitor mental condition; second, for co-riders (soldiers) to immediately report any issues during transit. During the evening inspection phase, he personally attended, informed drivers of the 5th Regional Support Command incident, and emphasized safety.

Additionally, General Chiu walked among various vehicles, conducted partial inspections himself, approached troops during preparations to understand their status, and asked one soldier, 'Do you have confidence?' The soldier immediately shouted, 'Yes!'—demonstrating that troop morale remained high despite continuous drills. The commander’s presence on the front lines alongside troops showcased strong leadership.
