Han Kuang 42 entered its sixth day today (10th), and the 10th Army Corps announced this afternoon that the Fifth Operational Area set up a field kitchen during the Han Kuang 42 exercise, implementing field cooking and hot meal delivery to verify the troops' ability to sustain food supply and combat effectiveness under restricted support conditions.
The 10th Army Corps stated that the primary goal of field cooking operations is to ensure normal food service for troops and meet basic physical and nutritional needs. The field kitchen was established near civilian facilities with access to water sources, flat terrain, and good drainage. The operation team was divided into roles such as 'wok operators,' 'vegetable cutters,' 'portioning staff,' 'rice servers,' and 'bento packers.' After meal preparation, hot meals were delivered via mobile units to various frontline positions to maintain troop combat readiness and support mission accomplishment.

Regarding past concerns over carcinogenic cooking oil, the military was questioned on how it ensures oil safety. In response, Major General Liang Ting-wei, spokesperson for the 10th Army Corps Command, told Storm Media that when the problematic oil incident occurred, all suspicious oil products were immediately removed from military supply stations. He emphasized that the oil currently in use is 'completely free' of issues, ensuring full safety.
