What to Do Before and After Water Restoration: Key Tips on Water Pumps and Faucets

In anticipation of the upcoming shutdown, the Taiwan Water Corporation advises residents to complete water storage at least 6 hours before the scheduled outage to avoid last-minute water collection that could cause low water pressure at pipeline endpoints.

During the shutdown, residents must turn off the power to their home water pumps. Continuous operation without water can easily overheat and damage the equipment, increasing the risk of fire. After water service resumes, residents should first open their faucets to release air trapped in the pipes, helping restore stable water flow more quickly. Users on higher floors, elevated terrain, or at pipeline endpoints may experience delayed water restoration due to the time required for pressure recovery. If water does not return after an extended period, it is recommended to contact the water company for assistance promptly.
