"We won't wear just any uniform — it has to be stylish!" Su Chiao-hui's campaign team revealed their new outfits today, launching a series of creative illustrated cards to communicate policy platforms. On November 11, Su Chiao-hui, candidate for New Taipei City mayor and legislator, introduced her campaign team's new uniforms on social media. From campaign vests and polo shirts to 'Otter Mom' T-shirts and windproof jackets, the full range made its debut, with campaign office staff modeling the outfits themselves. Through diverse styles, settings, and humorous captions, the team not only refreshed their look but also embedded recent policy proposals into everyday life scenarios, helping citizens understand policies more easily.
The first card in the series carries the theme: "We won't wear just any uniform — it has to be stylish!" — highlighting the youthful, lively, and creative spirit of Su Chiao-hui's campaign team. Designed for different weather conditions and occasions, the uniforms can be freely mixed and matched by team members. They're not only suitable for campaign events but also for casual outings like shopping or dining, seamlessly blending into daily life.
"The biggest demand from the team was that 'Su Chiao-hui' shouldn't be printed too large," Su joked. She hopes the uniforms go beyond being mere campaign workwear and become clothes people genuinely want to wear every day. She emphasized that as her team travels across New Taipei daily, the uniforms represent not just team identity but also a shared symbol of their collective effort for the city.
Turning Abstract Policies into Relatable Life Scenes
The key feature of this campaign is letting team members creatively transform abstract policy texts into vivid, everyday scenarios. For instance, a staff member dressed as a dentist with a tooth model promotes Su's proposal to subsidize up to NT$50,000 for seniors aged 65 and above to get dentures. Another team member, carrying bags of fresh produce, plays a shopper to advertise the policy of increasing the Elderly Care Card allowance to 1,000 points per month, with unused points carried forward.
On youth mental health, team members dressed as students introduce the central government's offer of three free counseling sessions for youth, with New Taipei City adding three more. In another card, a staff member carrying a bicycle promotes the "New Crown Coast Project," which plans to install rest stations every 5 kilometers along the northern coastal bike path, creating a more rider-friendly environment.
Other cards highlight policies such as free school lunches for all, enhancing meal quality using local New Taipei agricultural products, launching entrepreneurship courses with career mentorship, housing subsidies for indigenous people, doubling bonus rewards for technical certification, and eliminating co-payments for medical treatment and hospitalization for children aged 0 to 6.
From dentists and students to baristas, technicians, and cyclists, team members use role-playing to place policies in familiar life contexts. This not only makes policy platforms easier to grasp but also showcases the campaign team's youthfulness, diversity, and dynamism.
Su emphasized that her team engages daily with citizens of all ages, professions, and lifestyles across New Taipei. Every policy is designed to respond to real-life needs. By using creative cards to present policies, she aims to make them more than just words — but tangible elements of everyday life.
Su also said that citizens may spot her team members wearing the new uniforms at campaign events or local visits. "If you see my team around New Taipei, please remember to cheer them on with a 'Go!'" she urged, inviting everyone to join in building the next chapter for New Taipei City.
