The Taichung District Prosecutors Office announced today (11th) that it is investigating a labor procurement case involving the Taichung City Government. On August 6, 2026, searches and interviews were conducted on current Taichung City Government Senior Advisor Yen Nai-Lun, Chief Secretary Huang Ya-Hsi of the Secretariat, Director Hung Lung-Yi of the International Affairs Division, and former Taipei City Government Spokesperson Lee Cheng-Hsuan. These individuals are suspected of leaking confidential information related to a labor procurement case from 2020 under the City Government Secretariat.

Prosecutor Chen Chun-Yu of the Taichung District Prosecutors Office led the operation on August 6, 2026, commanding prosecutors' affairs officers from the Major Case Support Center, the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau's Taichung Branch, the Central Region Mobile Task Force, the Maritime Investigation Office's Taichung Station, and the National Police Agency's Fourth Security Police Brigade. Armed with search warrants issued by the Taichung District Court, they executed searches at four locations: the Secretariat of the Taichung City Government and the residences of the four suspects.

After interrogation, prosecutors determined that Yen Nai-Lun, Lee Cheng-Hsuan, Huang Ya-Hsi, and Hung Lung-Yi are strongly suspected of violating confidentiality laws. However, detention was deemed unnecessary. Yen Nai-Lun and Lee Cheng-Hsuan were ordered to post bail of NT$150,000 and NT$300,000 respectively and are now under travel restrictions prohibiting them from leaving the country. The remaining suspects and witnesses were released.

Yen Nai-Lun, once the youngest first-tier official in the Taichung City Government, was only 26 years old in 2018. A native of Taichung, she began her career as a legislative assistant to Mayor Lu Hsiu-Yen, demonstrating diligence and competence. She later joined Lu's mayoral campaign team. Her courage, composure, and meticulousness earned her Lu's recognition and trust.

During Lu Hsiu-Yen's tenure as a legislator, Yen served as a legislative and administrative secretary in Lu's legislative office. After graduating from the Department of Political Science, International Relations track, at Tunghai University, with a double major in International Business and Trade, she was hired as a legislative assistant and administrative secretary. Due to her outstanding performance, she was promoted in 2018 to become the newly appointed Secretary-General of Taichung City.
