What to Do Before and After Water Restoration To minimize disruptions and protect household water systems, the Taiwan Water Corporation advises residents to complete water storage at least 6 hours before the outage to avoid sudden pressure drops caused by mass pumping near the cutoff time. During the outage, residents must turn off the power to their water pumps. Running pumps without water can cause overheating, damage, or even fire hazards. When water is restored, open all faucets to release trapped air, helping water flow return smoothly. Users on higher floors, elevated areas, or at the end of pipelines may experience slower pressure recovery. If water does not return after an extended period, contact the water company immediately for assistance.
