The draft Special Act for the 2026 National Support Fund 2.0, which provides a cash disbursement of NT$10,000 to every citizen, has officially passed its first reading in the Legislative Yuan. Even before the central government's budget takes effect, local governments across Taiwan have already launched their own versions of 'cash top-up' welfare programs. Among them, the Sanwan Township Office in Miaoli County has announced an additional NT$5,000 living allowance for each resident. A total of 5,575 residents in the township are expected to benefit. This living allowance will be available for in-person collection at designated offices from August 13 to August 15. For residents aged 65 and above, a more convenient direct bank transfer service will be provided, eliminating the need to visit the township office.

Additionally, multiple counties and cities across Taiwan are simultaneously rolling out revitalization subsidies and relief funds ranging from NT$3,000 to NT$10,000.
