Han Kuang Exercise》Simulating U.S. Military Supply from the East Second Combat Zone Conducts Cross-Service Joint Operations to Ensure Smooth Material Transfer

On the 12th, the Second Combat Zone, in collaboration with the Navy and Coast Guard, carried out the 'Joint Anti-Blockade Escort' mission, escorting a merchant ship loaded with critical supplies into the port. Today, in response to a simulated enemy attempt to obstruct the material transfer, the defense forces swiftly executed port defense measures to secure the port area and ensure the smooth progress of the material transfer.

This 'Strategic Material Transfer' involved the Yushan-class ship simulating a U.S. military large transport vessel or a large merchant ship, arriving in the Hualien area to provide Taiwan with essential supplies and unload military materials. During the exercise, a minesweeper first conducted mine clearance to secure a safe passage, after which the Yushan-class ship entered the port. Upon confirming the port area's safety, personnel at Hualien Port conducted the 'Strategic Material Transfer' drill, simulating the wartime arrival of foreign supplies at Hualien Port, integrating port loading and unloading operations with the use of civilian flatbed trucks for material reception, loading, and transfer, thereby verifying the integration of civilian resources and logistical support capabilities.

Throughout the exercise, after the simulated vessel completed docking and unloading, personnel followed procedures to receive, load, and secure the materials. Each operational team worked closely in coordination according to their assigned tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of the material transfer operations.

The Second Combat Zone stated that through the Han Kuang 42 live-fire exercise, they verified the operational procedures for receiving and unloading strategic materials, integrated military and civilian transportation resources, and enhanced cross-service coordination and logistical support capabilities. This ensures that wartime supplies can be rapidly transported to designated areas as needed, maintaining the combat readiness of the forces and strengthening the resilience of cross-regional reinforcement.
