Google today (13th) unveiled its new Pixel 11 series in Taiwan, launching four models at once: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The entire lineup runs on Google's latest in-house Tensor G6 chip, with Gemini Intelligence more deeply integrated into the operating system. Unlike previous generative AI that waited for user commands, this generation emphasizes AI that understands on-device information and usage context, proactively offering help at the right moment. The Pixel 11 starts at $29,990, with pre-orders open now and official launch on August 20.

This year marks Google Taiwan's 20th anniversary. During the launch event, Peng Yu-chun, Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Google, stated that Pixel development aims not just to build a phone, but to deliver a 'Full Stack' experience integrating chip, hardware, software, AI models, and cloud services—so users don’t need to manage complex technical settings. Google’s goal is 'Do more for you with less from you,' meaning users do less, while the phone does more automatically.

The integration of Gemini Intelligence into the Pixel 11 series is a key step in this strategy. For example, when discussing airport pickup with a friend, with app permissions granted, the system can extract flight details from messages and suggest a suitable reply. A new speech-to-text feature understands more natural speech, automatically removing filler words like 'um,' interpreting mid-sentence corrections, and generating clear, coherent text.

Liu Zhao-yang, Technical Project Vice President at Google Pixel, introduced features like real-time video/audio translation, circle-to-search directly in the camera, and HiLight lighting cues—aimed at reducing the need to switch apps or check the screen frequently. HiLight uses colored LEDs around the camera flash to display notifications even when the screen is face down. For instance, during Gemini interactions, lights indicate whether the AI is listening, thinking, or responding. Users can also assign colors to important contacts to avoid missing critical calls.

When asked where AI processing occurs—on-device or in the cloud—Peng emphasized that the key isn’t the location, but the seamless user experience. Google uses both on-device AI engines and cloud-based computation, aiming for a 'seamless experience' where users don’t perceive switching between systems.

On the hardware front, all Pixel 11 models feature the Tensor G6 chip. The standard Pixel 11 comes with 12GB RAM and starts at 256GB storage, plus the Titan M3 security chip with post-quantum cryptography. Peng stressed that as AI handles more personal tasks, securing sensitive data becomes critical. The Titan M3 isn’t just a tech showcase—it’s part of a holistic system design to defend against future quantum computing threats.

Pixel’s signature computational photography now leverages generative AI. New 'One-Touch Capture' rapidly captures multiple frames, with AI models selecting the most representative moment—like a natural smile, blowing out candles, or a fast action shot. With user permission, it can also correct horizon alignment and reduce motion blur.

According to Google, the Pixel 11 Pro series, powered by Tensor G6 and generative image models, supports up to 120x professional zoom. The TPU in Tensor G6 delivers 50% faster processing than the previous generation. Combined with redesigned software and new sensors, night vision photography speed is up to 4.5x faster on Pro and Pro XL models.

Pricing starts at $29,990 for the Pixel 11, $36,990 for the Pixel 11 Pro, $42,990 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and $60,990 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The foldable model offers 256GB, 512GB, and an exclusive 1TB version via the Google Store.

The foldable device has been further lightened and strengthened. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is nearly 10% lighter than its predecessor, featuring a fiberglass composite back, a new gearless hinge, and a glass-ceramic outer display. Google claims overall durability is three times better than the previous model.
