China's 'First Humanoid Robot Stock' Unitree Robotics Soars in IPO! 8,000x Oversubscription, Betting on a $200 Million Company!
Chinese humanoid robotics company Unitree Robotics officially launched its IPO application on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market on August 10, 2026. The offering price was set at 150.8 CNY per share, with listing expected by mid-to-late August, making it the first 'humanoid robot stock' on China's A-share market. Most strikingly, its IPO received over 8,000x oversubscription from retail investors.
While the humanoid robot market remains small—only about 15,000 units deployed last year—advocates like Tesla CEO Elon Musk believe its potential is enormous. Unitree currently sits near the top of the industry food chain, and its moves are closely watched.
At Tesla's shareholder meeting last December, Elon Musk's $1 trillion compensation package was approved, with conditions including delivering 20 million Tesla vehicles, 10 million active FSD (Full Self-Driving) subscriptions, and 1 million Optimus robots. However, few know there's a hidden clause: if Musk merges Tesla into SpaceX, he can more easily claim the $1 trillion. Buried on page five of the 16-page '2025 CEO Performance Incentive Agreement' is a line stating that if Tesla is acquired or otherwise taken over, half of the performance targets are deemed fulfilled.
To curb hot money outflows, Chinese authorities recently implemented new rules effective June 12, 2026: all mainland investors' accounts are suspended from buying financial products or depositing funds. Only selling and withdrawals are allowed. Major online brokers—Futu NiuNiu, Tiger Brokers, and Changjie—are now fully restricted within China. This is widely interpreted as Beijing's latest move to prevent capital flight. Futu NiuNiu, the market leader, founded by Tencent alumnus Li Hua in 2007 and listed on Nasdaq in 2019, counts Tencent as a key strategic investor. With over 30 million global users and a record $530 billion in trading volume in Q1 2026, Futu's influence is immense.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Wednesday that July’s CPI rose just 0.1% month-on-month, in line with forecasts, and 3.4% year-on-year, the lowest since March. Core CPI, excluding volatile food and energy, rose 0.2% monthly and 2.5% annually—down from 2.6%—the lowest since March 2021. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh has stopped signaling the next move, but San Francisco Fed President Mary Daly outlined two scenarios: one where inflation pressures fade, allowing the Fed to stay put; another where inflation accelerates, possibly requiring rate hikes.
Yiwu, China, long known for supplying cheap goods, now sees buyers sourcing prayer rugs, Quran stands, Muslim attire, Ramadan lanterns, and crescent decorations. Chinese exporters are making bold moves into the Islamic world. According to research firm DinarStandard, China exported $32.5 billion in halal-related food, clothing, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and other goods to the 57 members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 2023, surpassing India and Brazil to become the largest supplier. The firm’s latest 'State of the Global Islamic Economy' report forecasts Muslim consumer spending in food, fashion, medicine, cosmetics, media, and travel will reach $3.56 trillion by 2029. The challenge lies in proving products are truly halal—there’s no global certification standard yet. But overcoming this could make the Islamic world a major new growth engine for China’s economy.
