YouTuber Adi recently traveled to Scotland with Joeman and 'Taiwan’s most beautiful English teacher' Peggy to film content. However, their return trip to Taiwan was thrown into chaos when flights were massively disrupted. Adi recently revealed the full story, explaining they had planned to fly from Scotland to London for a connecting flight. But about half an hour before boarding, the airport suddenly announced that multiple flights to London were canceled due to weather conditions, instantly derailing everyone’s travel and accommodation plans. Even Adi’s father ended up sleeping in a hotel lobby, prompting Adi to lash out: 'British Airways is absolutely terrible!'

While Adi and his father were lucky enough to secure standby seats and successfully board a flight to London, fellow travelers Joeman, editor Jianwen, and Peggy were left behind without standby options. Adi noted that he could still see empty seats on the plane, leaving him confused and frustrated by the airline’s handling. Worse still, after rebooking Joeman’s group on an early morning flight the next day, that flight was also canceled, forcing them to take a nearly six-hour train ride to London instead.
Adi initially thought the crisis was over once he arrived in London, but the next day revealed new problems for both groups. His father’s team, due to the earlier flight change, missed their originally scheduled onward connection. Adi mentioned they had asked airline staff before departure how accommodations would be handled, receiving the response that they should seek help from local staff upon arrival in London—so they didn’t book hotels in advance.

However, the reality upon reaching London differed from expectations. Adi said local staff, overwhelmed by the number of stranded passengers, instructed them to find accommodations themselves and submit receipts later for reimbursement. Through a travel agency, they finally secured a room, but upon arrival, check-in failed. After repeatedly checking nearby hotels—all fully booked—they spent hours struggling to find a place to stay, ultimately spending the night in the hotel lobby.
Learning that his father and companions had to spend the entire night resting in the lobby, Adi expressed deep dissatisfaction, directly criticizing British Airways in his video: 'British Airways is truly awful!' After this unexpected ordeal, he used his experience to warn travelers: when facing flight delays or cancellations that require an extra overnight stay, instead of waiting for the airline to arrange things upon reaching the next destination, it’s better to immediately start confirming lodging options. During large-scale flight disruptions, accommodations near airports can fill up extremely quickly.
