Breaking the common misconception that hot springs are only suitable for winter, the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications officially announced today the launch of the '2026–2027 Taiwan Hot Springs' annual campaign. This initiative integrates resources from as many as 19 major hot spring zones across Taiwan, fully promoting two core themes: 'Four-Season Soaking' and 'Taiwanese-Style Wellness,' deeply integrating local cuisine, cultural experiences, premium accommodations, and exclusive travel itineraries. This year, the Tourism Administration has also invited renowned chef Edward Lee from the popular cooking show 'Black & White Chef' as a 'Hot Spring Journey Guide' to lead the public in experiencing the unique charm of Taiwan’s hot springs.

Hot springs are no longer just for winter! 'Taiwan Hot Springs' partners with celebrity chefs from 'Black & White Chef' to create authentic Taiwanese wellness experiences.

As one of the Tourism Administration’s four flagship tourism events, this year’s 'Taiwan Hot Springs' is hosted by the Central Mountain Range National Scenic Area Administration. A grand '2026–2027 Taiwan Hot Springs Launch Ceremony' will be held on September 4 at Guanxiu Park in Taichung. Over 500 participants will join the 'Your Hot Spring Style' themed street parade, featuring distinctive cultural experiences such as Atayal tribal instruments and hunter shooting demonstrations. That evening, the 'Valley Lights Festival' Guanxiu edition will simultaneously light up, unveiling the large-scale art installation 'OhBear Loves Hot Springs,' enhanced with lighting, fog, and bubble effects. An immersive 3-minute light show will be presented every 30 minutes. The event continues on September 5 with a Songhe Tribe hiking trail and an evening concert. Travelers who participate in the hike and stay overnight at designated partner accommodations in Guanxiu will receive a 500 NTD accommodation cashback the following day.
